That's part of the life of a pro poker player THATS why they are called downswings. Mathematically, you can afford to play poker for a living once you have 6 months of ALLLL your expenses paid for in SAVINGS. THIS CANNOT INCLUDE YOUR BANKROLL: You must also develop and successfully utilize a bankroll management strategy. If you are prepared to meet certain criterion and have a solid business plan of how you will prevent yourself from going broke while you are unable to avoid negative variance, while also meeting all of your financial obligations...by all means, I highly recommend you pursue this dream immediately. Otherwise, perhaps reevaluate your plan, and decide not IF you should, but HOW YOU WILL.
