After the things I have read about Ungar, he would have to be on any "All time top 10 list". I would love to see what he would be like in today's poker world. His celeberty would be enormous. I don't know how you can say Raymer, Hachem, or Cada among the greatest of all time. They each had great runs in a major tournament, but were not really pros (Hachem maybe) prior to that and really are only pro now because of the fame. I'm sure there are dozens of regular grinders that are bettter than each of those three.

I dont agree with that top 10 at all. Especially ALL TIME? All time greatest all around players would have to be something like

1. Stu Ungar
2. Johnny Moss
3. Amarillo Slim
4. Doyle Brunson
5. Chip Reese

Today it would be something like..

1. Phil ivey
2. Daniel Negreanu
3. Phil Hellmuth
4. Doyle Brunson
5. Johnny Chan
6. Erik Seidel
7. Allen Cunningham
8. Chris Ferguson
9. Gus Hansen
10.John Juanda

There was no better all-around player than Stu Ungar. You should read his autobiography. He was 5 steps ahead of everyone else. Phil Ivey would be a distant second. 2 cents.

like i posted earlier, if ur going to say top 10 of ALL time, i dont think Cunningham, Negreanu, or even Hellmuth would be on it. The top 10 all time for me are the pioneers of poker like Amarillo slim, Puggy Pearson, Doyle Brunson etc.

Best players in the history of poker? :hmmmm2: Hmmmm...I dunno. For me, Legends in Poker = Stu Ungar, Doyle Brunson, & Billy Baxter (c'mon he took on the IRS). Extraordinary players (& gentlemen) = The Crew [Negreneau, Ivey, Cunningham, & Juanda] & Chip Reese.

I think Joe Cada is the worst player, this guy is so lucky. My favourite player and the best in the world is Daniel Negreanu.

Ummmm, the best player in the history of poker is not on your list! Johnny Chan is really by far the greatest to ever play the game we all love!!!

I cant choose 1 person so:
Doyle and Hachem
They both play very moderate poker and I like that style.

Ivey is the 3rd for me.

Just because they were pioneers doesn't mean they are the top 10 of all time.

If I have to choose from this list then Id lean toward this:

1. Ivey--- All Around Best in all games both cash and Tourney.
2. Doyle--- Got to have the Godfather close to the top.
3. Helmuth--- but only in Holdem Tournaments (11 bracelettes speak for themselves.)
4. Daniel --- Sick Reads and a great Ambassador
5. Jesus --- Solid Finishes and great Heads-up Player
6. Gus --- I believe he has 4 WPT Titles and is so unpredictable.
7. Hachem--- Him and Raymer have proven that they are no fluke.
8. Raymer --- See note on #7
9. Lederer--- Dont see him as much anymore but has done alot for poker away from the felt.
10. Cada--- Time will tell
