There are many good players and it is difficult to say who is the best. But in general I agree with you, I also think that Daniel is one of the best.

If you are genuinely asking who is the best poker player today rather than the most popular, then it is not Daniel Negreanu.

The best argument would be Michael Addamo with Ali Imsirovic a close second. They have pretty much swept all before them over the last year or so and 2022 is shaping up to be no different.

Michael Addamo for instance kicked off 2022 by winning the Super Millions for a record 5th time and Ali Imsirovic was voted GPI player of the year.
