Why am I stuck "dead" for months on end? Can't pick which game to play and tilt issue Hello. I'm going to give you a quickish run down of my poker since I started and would like some views on why I'm soooo bad. Ok, to start with I don't think i'm "bad" as in a fish who's in need of depositing. I'v not had to deposit since I started reading and studying more and more. I came a long way from quite often depositing nearly every day or every other day, $20.00 then $10.00 here and then $100.00 there again, the same old cycle. I then decided to make the "final" stand and deposit one final $80.00 deposit back in October. I haven't had to deposit since, so that's something I guess. The problem I have is picking a game type and sticking to it. I can't for the love of god decide on which I'm better suited for. One minute I'm making a profit in cash games so think this is the game for me, I then lose quite a few buy-ins and doubt my play. I then, switch back to SnG's, make a profit and then lose again, then go back to cash games. It seems if I play one and win, then lose and switch back to the other one I can more quickly make a profit...but then obviously after a while start going on a downswing. I had a peak of around $250.00 playing cash games. I then decided one evening(boxing day evening - had a few beers), I wanted to play some Omaha. I managed to donk of around $15.00-$20.00 within a very short space of time and hands. I tilted realllly bad as it was a grind winning $10.00 in one session and to thought I just lost $20.00 so quickly tilted me. I then went on to play some 50/100 NL and Limit Hu's. I was steaming and losing every possible hand even when I had the best hand and got it in good.Annnyway, I knew I was playing out of my bankroll but wasn't playing scared, I was actually playing aggressive. To cut a long story short, within 30minutes and 60 hands I lost $190.00. I was so close to just re-loading my last $50.00 and donking the lot off but something stopped me, I dunno what. I quickly closed it all down and didn't play for a few days. Two or Three days later I decided to load up pokerstars again and looked at my pitiful $50.00 and was soo close to withdrawing and calling it a day. I didn't do it and basically decided to grind out 25cent/$1.00 45/90man turbo's.Within a week I was upto $150.00 so was happy..I then started breaking even and struggled turning over any profit for around nearly a a month now. So I decided after watching more videos and so on, to play some cash games again. I played only 4 tables at 5nl/10nl and managed to win around $30.00 with in around 400-500 hands. So, now I'm sat on a bankroll of around $180.00 with 3000 fpp's. I just don't know where to go or what to play. When I think about it all and look at my donking of of cash etc I'd of had around $400.00 by now which would give me more play to decide on what to play. I just don't want to get into a rut again of playing cash games and donking off a lot of money, then grinding SnG's again and just keep going around in circles... I just don't know which I'm better at, either Cash or SnG's. I can turn a profit, I just seem to do it after I've tilted to previous day or lost a lot of dollars. I can grind up from low amounts and get to $200 maybe $250 but then it's like my balance is not capable of going any higher and I lose buy-in after buy-in in some sort of poker format... How on earth do you determine which you're "better" at? I could go of results and see maybe SnG's but I know as well if I didn't play out of my limits (Ie:50nl/100) I'd of been showing a profit in cash games... I enjoy both formats, SnG's/tournaments tend to frustrate me more though as it's tournament life as opposed to just one hand in cash. If I lose 10-15 buy-ins in SnG's I doubt myself and switch. If I lose x amount of buy-ins or take a bad beat on a big pot after grinding for hours, I again tilt.. So it's like what do I do? lol Thanks if you read this....
