Why do people join a tournament only to sit out

Is it fair that people get to sit out in a tournament while others play hard to win?

Why is it that people register for a tournament, then sit out? I can understand if you registered then forgot about it or registered then had to make a run, but to just register and sit out is irritating. Sometimes when there's more than half the table sitting out us that are playing come up with a way to hurry the blinds along so they can blind out sooner. I don't think it's fair for someone who's been playing the whole game to go out befora a sitter. I do give props to UB for putting out players who don't play in the first level of the game. I think more sites should do the same.

Yes

I too, believe that other sites should get rid of sitters that are out for the first 20 minutes. Then it would be fair. You can actually win money sitting out though, in a study, of a 9 player sit n go. If you sit out, you will place in i think it was 3 out of 10 tournaments. Then you actually win some money. I think it is unfair that people sit out and then the table only has 4 players playing. The game is ruined when that happens.

If you pay the buy in then I think you should be in until blinded out.If it is a freeroll, I like a 10 minute rule to play or get wiped out.

for many its just their strategy , some might be more interested in getting the leaderboard points . It doesnt bother me , but I do hate losing b4 all the sit outers r gone. Some will start playing about 1 hour in2 the game , after alot of the donks have gone.
