Whoo hooo!!! I have never attempted any live Sattelites before, and this being all women also is a big change to online poker tournaments and satellites that I have been doing. I was bound and determined to win my way to this event, I feel if I can not win my way through I should probably not play in it. Well let me tell you it has been an exciting adventure the past couple of days. I tried one satellite a couple weeks ago and made it to the final table only to play my chip stack stupid and lose that first one. But last night I was able to try again in the $50.00 buy-in satellite that Langley Cascades Casino is offering. I came back from short stack at the final table (18 ladies to start) and of course got very lucky anouther time. There were 3 of us left two paid a $450 ticket and third got $50.00. All of us were getting along and playing well and all had around the same chip stack, one of the ladies proposed a deal, to split the $900.00 three way and the one with the most at the time would recieve the extra $50.00. Both of these ladies had already had a ticket to the event so would just be winning the cash instead anyway's. We all agreed so I went home with $300.00. Today was the last day for the satellites to win a ticket to the main event, so off I went this afternoon to use the $300.00 to win that ticket. The first satellite had 16 ladies in it, I finnished in 4th, only two tickets were available for this tournament! Darn.. oh well most of the same ladies who were out were playing again in the next one right away. Now this next satellite had 10 players only... One ticket to win.... Slow start, but then I started getting lucky and was the table chip leader in no time at all.. Pocket 8's love me, trips both times, got down the three of us and the short stack was being difficult [IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif[/IMG] Anyways I managed to win my chips back from her with big slick against her pocket 3's, King came.. whew. Now HU, I was a slight chip stack leader, then was on draw for a flush and donated her way to many chips [IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/forum/images/smilies/mad.gif[/IMG] I refocused and started playing smarter and won most of my donation back. She was playing very tight also, blinds are now 1000.00/500 Im on the button with [IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/images/cards/card_Ah.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/images/cards/card_As.gif[/IMG] she raised three times the blind I call. Flop comes [IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/images/cards/card_Ks.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/images/cards/card_3h.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/images/cards/card_7d.gif[/IMG] shes first to act and puts in 3000.00 more leaving her with 6000.00 in her stack. I push all in have her covered plus 4000.00. She thinks for awhile looks at her chips, blinds have just been annouced they are going up she call with [IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/images/cards/card_Kc.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/images/cards/card_4s.gif[/IMG]... My AA held, Soooo friggin sweet!! So now I get to play in this Sunday's Main Event with a $140,000.00 prize pool, max 350 players. There some really great players there and alot of regulars playing that new each other very well. I was able to participate in tonight Social event of the tournament where we treated to a very nice Roast Beef buffet and chocolate fountaine with fruit for desserts, they had a silent auciton and a live aution with assortment of great iteams. I got a fabulous deal on lift tickets to Whistler [IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif[/IMG] Such a great time! (Better if when you win, ofcourse [IMG]http://static.railbirds.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif[/IMG] ) Any other cardschat that will;be there? I was chatting with a few ladies from Up Country that have travelled down for the event, the poker room was a Buzz all day and evening! Oh ya, the Bad beat jack pot was won while I was there too, winner recieved over $25,000.00 and all the rest delt into the hand won some $2500.00 at $1/$2 table. Quad Jacks against Pocket aces hitting trips then the full house with the Jacks.. Man were they happy over there! Well I hope to play some knock dead poker this Sunday! Wish Me Loads of Luck!!
