I used to run a bar many years ago and every Saturday when most of the Pubs closed at 3.00 in the Afternoon, we were open until 5.00 because we were a club and licensed differently, I would shout last orders at around 4.50, serve until 5.00 then pull the shutters down on the bar for two hours, sounds strange today, but that was the Law!
I then took £20 out of my wallet and would sit into a game of three card brag leaving my wallet locked behind the bar, Once that £20 was gone I would leave the game satisfied that I had played my best, but more often or not I would walk away with £100 Plus, main reason was the lads I was playing against had been drinking all afternoon enjoying themselves, and because I was working I hadn't touched a drop of beer, so I was in full control of my faculties and could get an easy read on most of the players.
It was a little like "taking candy from Babies" but if I didn't do it someone else would.
Playing drunk is always a big mistake, but playing drunk against a sober player is like signing your own death warrant, you might as well just open your wallet and say "Here take what you want"
