You should only buy in for 2% of your bankroll at once according to Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, who created the bankroll challenge. This is when playing tournaments. You can buy in for 4% in cash games. So, if you have $100 bankroll NEVER buy in for more than $2 in a tournament or never sit down in a cash game with more than $4. If you build your bankroll at these levels then you may try a higher level. If not. You are a losing poker player and need to study the game more through reading or training. Software at these levels isn't cost effective for most people at these levels, so just have fun and if you can't double a $100 bankroll, then just try not to lose too much.
