It depends on what you mean by the words good hand. Kings or ladies? So they are weaker than a pair of pocket aces. Wait for AA go all-in and get ready to leave the tournament after losing a set of deuces. Because by the time you get a "good hand" your stack may be the smallest and you'll be covered with any two cards. Good luck!

If sitting down at a table for the first time then I want to see a few hands to see who is mixing it up, who is folding and who is a clown. Just take it easy in the beginning because I would play for more then a few hours, like, I bought a cooler and food and drinks if anyone is hungry, lol. No need to rush because we are going to be here awhile!!
