How to play large freerolls?

Hello everyone, for beginners, give advice on freerolls. A large number of participants, i want to get to the final table, but i quickly lose. [emoji742] [emoji742]

Its hard to try to improve your game in freerolls, people tend to not care at all as there is no skin in the game. Do your best and pray for luck

Like so many has said. Play aggressive and in many hands. There is a lot on donks in freerolls, so either make them play or get out of the way.

Freerolls are just like MTTs in general... Only more beginners and more loose/gambling players. The bigger the player field the more of a lottery it is, indeed... Freerolls on pokerstars for example have mostly 10k players, you need so much luck to end up high there, and even if you do, the money u can win is almost nothing (which is understable since there is no buy-in). I won about 10 freerolls or other tournaments with low buy-in, there is sure some skill involved, but like has been said you really need to win a couple of "coinflips" to last till the end... That's why I like cashgames a lot more, you have a much better overview over your earnings and bankroll, while if you play MTTs you can have a lot of great and bad results (up and downswings), which makes it not very clear how profitable you are. Only over a longer period of time it would be clear if you actually make a good profit.

And I have had different times that I play myself up to chipleader in tournaments, play great (and have a bit of luck), build up a very nice stack, then suddenly you loose most of your chips losing with QJ to KJ
As I said I really prefer cashgames over tournaments cuz there is less "luck" involved and it's really hard to my feeling, to get balance in your play in tournaments (also cuz you don't know the players, etc...).

If you like freerolls, you have freerolls on: Pokerstars (every 4hours), Bwin (not many of them), 24hbet, stanjames poker, tigergaming (a lot on there), unibet... Those are the ones I know but sure there are still a more that offer freerolls. You can also take a look at jackpotfreerolls.org.

The best thing you can do when participating in a freeroll is to play well, then you will definitely be lucky. You can not control your luck, but you can increase your chances of winning by playing a lot of freerolls.

1. accept the fact that most FR are too much luck
2. generally speacking "tight is right"(c) till ITM and then it's adusjting to your ops.
3. alot of these games are push/fold even on the first few levels of blinds so work on your push/folds (nash if you will)
4. dont hero call multiway pots
5. pray and rub 4 leaf clovers all over

I play just waiting for good hands. Trying to hold it but not always it turns out. Virtually no bluffing.

i play my style im usually behind but comfortable coming behind if running well ill take the chip lead period. I don't ever force it best advice kid poker was you cant win a tournament in the first hour. Doesnt matter the tourney. My goals are simple sign up get past first hour then first 3 hours. Game really begins in hour three online most tourneys. If im still alive i have a shot so then im trying to itm next trying to get top table then try to maneuver to final four. Once down to four all gloves are off. I usually take command but get beats is what it is. So maybe too aggressive at that point at times Playing some league here and freerolls here on cardschat will improve your game especially teaching you more patience you can use for bigger wins when needed.

Now everything I have stated you got to keep in mind a tournament is a moving animal. It can be tricky at times blinds etc.. are people leaving openings? Are you at a final table and everyone is loose? Can you fold down effecting stack but capitalize in that top four? Those are what you need to learn and when to push how to push why to push. You will only learn this by application especially the mistakes Having no fear is a great advantage. Forgetting the money even though you have it up looking at it and playing for fun with those final players. I hardly ever bubble but don't put self in that situation often. I am shooting for numbers at certain points in a tournament> I play the same events always everyday so know what is needed to finish. I know when I have to flat out push cause its a turbo or regular. I know when i can sit out and collect cash. This all takes time to learn rinse and repeat.

Too many ppl sit out or play real tight in the beginning and approaching the money. Be aggressive at both times.

Too many ppl go allin with JT, KT, 89, 55+, and any two cards.. I play agresiv only with monster and still i get 2-3 or 4 calls.

Play these tournaments more often, more consciously, analyze the course of the game as a whole, adjust the tournament to your own discretion with the correct rules. The main thing is to play more often, your rules will grow by themselves. Do not use one strategy throughout the tournament. It all depends on the players at the same table with you, feel the tactics of the enemy. At the beginning of the tournament play conservatively because the stakes are not great. Further what will be the situation. And stock up luck. 30% luck 70% style of the common game

My own experience tells me that early in the freerolls you should play tight and do more watching of the hands and how they play out with those at your table. Spot some easy targets to exploit and wait for the correct time/odds to do so. As the easy targets start to disappear, look for players tendencies (betting, checking, folding, etc...) in certain positions as well as players hand ranges, loosening up just enough to create oppurtunities to exploit them too. Late in freerolls you are faced with either good or extremely lucky players. When you can sort them out and play each differently and effectively, you should be on your way to some final table action.

I was played like that, but when I all-in they fold.

Have patience and wait for a hand. Look for double ups and let the other people knockout each other. Once the stakes get higher the dumber people tend to get.

I played around 30 000 and fall into the prizes.
Play safely and think about every move.
In these tournaments you should try to raise your stack for at least 10 minutes.

You really need to be patient and stay focus , it takes a long time and I tend to loose it very soon and make one-two mistakes , enough to cost me my tournament life

You are waiting for a good card and bet on everything

I play strong or strong hands tightly and try to avoid going all in because many times we can have bad hands and lose even with a very strong hand since in the FREE many players play all hands regardless of which cards they have

Try to play only with strong hands. Then, if long at the table, and the opponents see that you are playing only a strong card, you can steal the blinds from rivals.
