In general, I would say I play the JJ slow pre flop so I don't do any big action, because the hand usually just looks better. If the flop is small, it can finally start

Pocket jacks is an amazing hand, but when going against AK or AQ its pretty much the same as having 22,except for certain straight drawbacks.

JJ is like any other pair they can get smashed by even a higher pair or a set they're not guaranteed to win you anything just tread lightly.

on a deepstack games i treat it like TT by raising 2.5-4.5 bb pre depending on positions, my stack size compared to others & table dynamics, then proceed accordingly to the players involved in the pot.
on a shortstack games i also treat it similar to TT, i shove it pre.

I find pocket Jacks to be a great and valuable hand. The most inportant thing about playing them is to be able to fold them. Just like with aces so people wont fold them in many situations when they have them and should realize they are beat.

It is an interesting hand, but it is not for many things. When the situation is positive for JJ and there are a few players in the hand, I play aggresively. Most of the times it needs to be carefull because can cause damage to the stack.

Well here's a funny JJ story in that I should have known better.

Just an hour ago I was in a tourney on the cusk of the bubble. I was in middle position with JJ. Everyone folded to me and I thought, sometimes you need to get your swag on, it's a few places to the bubble and everyone will fold to an all-in.

So I went all-in...as did the player to my left...and then the player in the SB(?).

Cards turned and the first player had pocket Queens, then the next pocket Aces.

Naturally, I should have entered the pot carefully...but I had this nagging voice saying 'come on, JJ is a strong hand'.

I play them just like any other pocket pair (except top 3,those I play much more agressive).
So raise/3bet preflop and hope to flop a jack

If there are overcards on board , I play it carefully , if not , very agressivly . And knowing your opponents also helps in those spots , cause I'm not gonna go all-in vs rock when he raise me , while vs maniac , hohoho

Well. Bad luck. But let's say you acted carefully and limited yourself to 3bet. The first player, taking into account the bubble, is most likely a call, but the SB is obviously all-in. The logic of the development of events suggests that it is necessary to fold the fourth strongest hand preflop, but there are hardly many beginners capable of such an act. And in freerolls you can't find them at all.
