I have been playing live poker lately and I haven't had a unique card protector while I am playing. Actually, I have used from a small toy to simple ring. For many players card protectors are a good luck charm.
What do you use as card protector?

I wrote that I use anything as a card protector and of course I believe in myself !

I don't play live either, so I was wondering why people use card protectors. This video cleared that up for me.

I do not have one, I need to prepare one for my next live tournament. I'm thinking of using a Batman keychain until I get a protector.2016 New Arrival Superhero Bat

I never use a card protector, it would just distract me.

I liked it, but the pointed parts might scratch the cards.

Can you use the button as a card protector?

I don't play live all the much. When I did, some people used them, some didn't. I was the latter, and really did not understand what they were at the time.

Question. They use a disc for the dealer position, right. Can you use that as a card protector during play?

I just used one of my chips the last time I was playing live in Reno. Then, I suppose, there's always a variation of the Charlton Heston motto: Dealer, you can pry these cards, "Fom my cold dead hands." --lol

Just remember to place a chip on your cards so it's clear to the dealer that your hand is still live and not ready for the muck. It is recommended.

I just use a chip. Wedding ring gives me all the luck I need. Cute, 7 years younger than me and I look like a gorilla that knows how to talk. And I'm not rich for those that would think that lol /shrug

I only play online poker, and I do not use the Card protector and I have not heard of it, but if it helps the players, then I wish good luck to all players and those who use and those who do not use it!

Just a Chip. It's the most convenient option, imo.
