Cheating in online poker

Indeed, where there is a lot of money, there can always be cheating, however, not as you are referring to, players do make mistakes, but there are few when the players are very good, cheating happens more in live games than in online games.

We have no way of knowing how many online players collude via messagers, phones and etc. And neither do poker sites.

I only play at my local casino and in me and my buddies home for the very reason I know there's no to little chance of cheating. I also only play now at Pokerstars online. They have best 20 year track record there is of all the online sites there are. People can bag on the new owners, software etc etc all they want. When it come security and trust Pokerstars top the list far away of anyone else.

Anyone playing on unregulated sites, Private poker clubs(live or online sites) and in peoples home games that are basically strangers yeah they're likely getting cheated. That's what happens when you're not very smart and greedy. And there's a lot of not very smart greedy poker players out there. On bright side because of all them not smart people poker will never die(unless the Govt kills it). Live or online.

i see bunch of cheaters every day on ggpoker but they don´t care.

I turned a bunch of multi- account cheaters to ACR, think they banned 1.

Where there is money there will always be scammers! even in other parts of the world we often face competition, for example unfair prices in shops or bullying at school, it's all unfair, but that's the world!

I won't disagree with you that there's the possibility of issues online or in club games . I will disagree when you say there is little to no chance in a casino. The only time I've ever seen cheating has been in a casino including one major casino in Las Vegas during a tournament series. Then just look at the controversies and issues at this year's world series of poker. There were always gonna be people trying to cheat or take advantage of the system but I don't think it is as prevalent as you may think online.

Wow. That's disappointing. Was that in SNG's? I notice on the iPoker network, the SnG's there are loaded with cheating & bots and it is completely unregulated. (I've seen some players who are on there 24hrs./day).

I would say that is virtually impossible in tournaments.

That's the think there is honestly no way for us to know or the sites to know if players are colluding at high stakes cash tables. Bots don't worry/concern me much. After a very short time and with my 20 years experience it's fairly easy to spot or clear when there's a bot at the table. Simple to deal with. Not and tag it as a bot and report it. Till dealt with by the site avoid sitting/playing with it. Hell if I even get a weird or strange feeling about an account or notice something off when I'm doing a hand history review I'll mark players. Being mainly a Pokerstars player thou it's been a long time since I've come a crossed any probable bots on PS.

Plenty of stories about shady goings on in private clubs(online and live) over the years. Guys not getting not paid winnings, guys depositing and never seeing the money again. Hell any online site/club that allows US players can rip them and scam them endlessly with consequences. What/who is any US player is gonna call, email or contact about it. There is no when you play illegally and on unregulated sites.

Then you have sites who aren't even completely transparent/honest about their rake.

Personally it's only high stakes online I'd be worried about when it comes to colluding cause that's the easiest way to cheat and likely not get caught especially is guys have a bit of common sense and don't make it extremely obvious.

Guess your right about that. We just seen cheating at the final table of the wsop ME this year. Nothing was done about it. Personally I'm always pay close attention at my local casino for anything funny and weird. Have never see anything.

I don't think that there is any kind of cheating in poker. Maybe some very small percentage

It's something to think about and be inert.

Unfortunately, online criminals will always try to commit their criminal acts. We can only hope that poker sites will invest enough money in security measures, in the work of the security team and in special security programs. And of course, we ourselves must always be on our guard.

Software? I am still not sure what you are referring to? Do you mean stat. tracking software like PokerTracker 4, or Holdem Manager? (< it's not cheating obviously)
Are you referring to something else when you say "software"? ie. solvers

Do I want to bet? I already have. Managed to get bets in on a few sites, a few weeks ago when I was getting some great odds.
Here's a couple bets from 888Poker where I got 2.875 : 1 on Harris. I feel like I've already won! (I could cash out for the win today but why would I when I KNOW I'm going to win).

Have you even checked the ODDS that bookmakers are posting today on the US presidential election?

Harris is the favorite on all sites.

I came across some pretty dudious play the other day on Betfair, 5 dollar sit and go! double or nothing! looked too me like the guy with the biggest stack was softballing the other stacks, (checking things down, when it was painfully obvious if he bet he would have took the pot! then being ruthlessness aggressive with me!

I cant be certain there was collusion going on or if they where just **** at poker!

The day someone proves the cheating, I will stop playing away, and I will only play Cardschat freerolls

I only play small $ MTT games and I enjoy it. I hope I am not playing against cheaters, but if I am, I guess I am just more disappointed than angry.

I also take some comfort in the fact that if people are cheating at the levels I am playing at, I really feel sorry for them. Perhaps I will start re-classifying my poker losses as Charitable Contributions. LOL!

I think it's not impossible to cheat: Players at the same table could communicate via Discord or other applications.
But if you only play at micro limits or micro buy-ins, you won't find any cheaters at your table: it's not profitable enough.
And if you join big MTTs like Sunday Million with a lot of players, the draw of the tables is random so there can not be any "team play".

I didn't noticed it is so bad as you say, but i guess cheating exists like in every activity involving easy money

cheating already happens everywhere in life not only in poker
