Do you use poker chips while playing online poker?

Handling chips, stacking them, cutting off piles... so that when you go to put in your bet you at least have some experience.
But as far as riffling the chips goes ('shuffling' chips) or other chip tricks, I don't do any of this at a live table. Why would I want to 'look like' an experienced chip riffler at the table? Personally I want to give the other players the impression that I am not overly experienced. And honestly the chip tricks do nothing for me. Admittedly there was a time (a dozen years ago) that I had some chips by my computer & taught myself how to riffle the chips. (there's videos online to show you how to do it, lol). This lasted all of a couple days. Doesn't interest me.

It may be that I don't really trust people in general, but whenever I see two or more people doing chip tricks in the same table, I always imagine they're illegally passing information to each other... I mean IT COULD HAPPEN.. Right?

Chips are always on the table. Previously, I learned a couple of tricks, and mechanically did them, but now I stopped it. Distracts from the game.

After I learned the tricks, I found a mushy stressball was more effective.

Yep. I keep them on a couple of mouse-pads, nice and spongy. They're like the "ben-wai-balls" of the felt.

ya i have at times taken out the poker set and set a stack of chips done some shuffeling

I have always "shuffled" a stack of chips since I first started playing online back in 04-05ish. Watching the WPT and seeing everyone playign with the chips gave me the urge to go out and get a chipset. It just adds to the feeling of playing poker ! I think it also can be a sort of stress / anxiety reliever and allow you to be patient
