Do you use poker chips while playing online poker?

I don't have chips while I play online. However I have a tendancy to tap my hand on the table to act as a check.

I've tried shuffling chips at my computer for practice, but I don't do it too often to be honest. When I'm playing poker online, I am usually more focused on how everyone is playing (even when I'm out of the hand).

I am decent at knuckle rolls with a poker chip and do them sometimes, but I am terrible at shuffling chips to be blunt. If I try shuffling chips at my computer it is solely for practice shuffling the chips. Maybe one day, I'll get to the point where I can impress some friends, but right now: I need more practice

Haha I didn't think it would be about online poker. Good idea to play with poker chips while playing online poker. It gives me the right concentration in the casino but also distraction.

I don't play with my chips even in a live game, I tend to ignore them and when it is my time to act then I will reach for my stack sometimes it is enough just to reach for them that some people will fold even before I declare a raise.

Also it does not make you a better player twirling them around your knuckles etc

I will admit to using a card guard at live games, but this is purely to stop them being mucked before I look at them.

Oh! Definitely! In my case, I enjoy shuffling them while I'm out of hands and watching the rest of the players. I read that some posters above me claim that this distracts them. For me, it's quite the opposite. It actually helps me focus.

I think it is unnecessary to be with chips during an online poker game, because they are for people who want to control their nerves and to play poker you must be mostly cold-blooded. But if it works for some, it is up to them, there is nothing written about tastes :top:

I just like to shuffle chips in general and learn tricks for fun, but I do find that it helps me focus and be less anxious when playing online. I like to play up beat music and shuffle chips when I'm deep in an MTT. I've got 4 kids at home, so often a lot of distractions. I just put head phones on and try to stay "in the zone". Shuffling chips helps a little. As far as shuffling in live poker, I'm kind of torn. I can see why you wouldn't want people to think you're experienced, but in my small local tourneys, I like to put the fear into the old folks. They seem to think I bluff all the time because I can shuffle chips...welcome to value town.

Nope, I don't ever use chips when playing online. I have a mouse I can click or foot I can wiggle while playing. I'm generally quite active playing and multi tasking so fondling chips would only slow me down.
