I have played tournaments on different platforms and I have noticed that the game flows differently and there is a difference in the distribution of hands. On some sites I have the distinct feeling that higher cards come out more often. That “feeling” would be real!

It is a "feeling".

You have to prove this over an extremely large number of hands an boards.

Best use a tracker and a billion dollar bankroll to get the evidence.

Everything is changing. Today you have this feeling and in a week you will already feel like the opposite. Poker is primarily about mathematics and if you want to be a player who makes money, you have to rely on your own skills first and foremost.

The fate of the game is determined not only by the cards, but also by patience, experience, and cunning.

Yes, this is very likely to happen at certain poker sites.

You're not the only one who's felt that! I’ve played across a bunch of platforms too, and yeah — sometimes it really does feel like certain sites are just obsessed with high cards or action-heavy flops. You get that déjà vu like, “Wait, didn’t I just lose AQ vs AK again?”

Now, technically, all the big sites are supposed to use RNG-certified algorithms, and the hand distribution should be random over time. But feelings like this pop up a lot because we remember the crazy hands more than the boring folds. Plus, online games are fast — so we see more wild swings in a short time.

Still… I’ll admit, sometimes it feels like the site just wants to stir the pot and serve up drama.

If you want to prove your feelings, get a HUD and document the differences over a large sample size.

Whenever I play freerolls I get a lot of action cards but when it's cash MTTs it's too dry to play but when get something in position someone else always have something similar or better and takes the pot away on turn or river

I guess the only way to really be close to poker and keep winning is to play like a pro, playing a lot of MTTs every day
Playing one game a day is just very tiltfull
Is probably not the platform, but the day
God bless

I think they all use different RNG algorithms based on some hidden formulas that generates those ' random ' cards

You need to understand that the poker to the Rum is the main thing to pay the rail more, and the algorithms and generators of random meles are different, and this is the norms, but it is not worth seeing the rebellion

I think there are sites that have their own algorithm and when they want to remove you from the table they include this algorithm but there is a possibility that a player can fold and move on. It's like playing squid, the player's actions at this moment are also important

To be honest, I've noticed similar things too! For example, I see a split on the board at PokerStars much more often than in other poker rooms. And in general, the most adequate algorithm of the game in GGPoker, which is the most similar to live poker. ;)

It's possible. Although sites claim to use RNGs (random number generators), their implementation can vary. Some platforms may have unintentional biases or programming errors.

That feeling is super common, but it’s almost always just variance + confirmation bias.

I think of this as more of a life RNG thing than anything else.

As in if you rolled high before you were born you understand that poker is a strategy game and if you work on your strategy and play against players you are better than you'll make money over the long run.

Or you rolled low and you think it's all the RNG's fault you're losing and it has nothing to do with the fact that you're bad at poker, have never tried to improve and continually sit down at a tables full of players who rolled high and put work into their game.

Never mind, you're right, it's the RNG.

On a completely unrelated note, a seat just opened up at my table if you're up for a game...

I had too bad night without sleep because of another russian air attack on my city. You ask such funny questions to be honest, but I'll answer you because of respect to you, since you are a strong poker player. My answer is because I feel that way. I played a lot of live poker before the war in my city and the play at the poker tables at GGPoker is the most similar. Why? Because I feel that way. If you ask me similar questions in the future, I won't answer you (no offense, please), but just remember that my answer will always be “because I feel that way”. ;)

He played a meaningless sample on GG and probably won aka ran good. He liked what he observed and came to this conclusion:

"Hey I'm winning and those few board runouts I saw mostly favour me! Everything feels quite normal here! Almost like live, the real pokerz!"

That's usually what happened when people start with this "feels like live" nonsense 😅
