Find out which one you like better and which one makes more money. Then decide which one is more important to you.

cash games have their pros and cons, MTTs have their own. Try to think about where you are more comfortable. But if you have the time and energy to play MTT, then I think it's better to give preference to MTT, only in this format you can count on great success and huge prize money!

As stated above, tourneys can provide you with large winnings. If you're newer to online poker, stick with the freerolls, and micro tourneys that cost under a buck. You can build a cash bank with freerolls, and play micro tourneys that will pay quite a bit more than freerolls. If you're flush with cash, I think either holdem, or tourney's are great, depends on the amount of time you have to play. Cash holdem will allow for quicker cash wins, but also quicker losses. Percentage wise, I like tourneys as I cash quite often, and have plenty of time to devote to them. I'm at the lower end stakes of poker so any advice I might offer applies to that status. It's difficult to offer an opinion without knowing your abilities, and what your financial status is, however vague you'd care to be. In any case, wish you well in your endeavors.

$$ or pleasure?

Are you playing for fun or do you have to make a living with poker? Also, which format are you better at? I prefer MTT’s.

Play what is profitable. Although it can be combined, it all depends on the mood and timing.:icon_bigs

You don't have to make a choice. There are also many other game formats. Your statistics will tell you everything.

The best advice I have ever heard in poker (outside of Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" song) is this: Find a game that you beat and play a ton of it ~ Jonathon Little. Focus on games you beat and play them A LOT. If you want to play some of the other style here and there, go for it, but if your goal is to make money, follow that advice.

Cash games are bread and butter for making consistent stable winnings. But should be grinded out almost every day, often on multiple tables, even if you do not feel like it.

If you play for fun, and for hitting that big jackpot and do not care that much in improving dramatically - go for tournaments.

I feel its just a matter of personal preferance really. I enjoy the grind of tourneys with the prize at the end. However some prefer cash so they can come and go as they please.

It’s a question of pure preference. For me tourneys but time to time it’s ok to go for Cash.

Hello, I think that to start and build the bank, the cash is better, since in tournaments the variance is much greater, which makes it more difficult to cope when you just start, however it depends on personal tastes, as long as you are aware in the management of banking and variance especially, I prefer tournaments.

In a tournament, everyone starts with the same amount of chips and the blinds gradually increase. The main goal of the tournament is to win the chips of all players. And depending on what place the player takes, he receives (or does not receive) a real monetary reward.
In cash games, the chips in front of you represent real money and the blinds do not grow here. Moreover, no one can completely knock you out of the game, you can always buy and continue the game. Thus, the goal in the stash is simply to win more than you originally had.
Personally, I took poker very seriously from the beginning. So I wanted to know what format the professionals play in.

More consistent cash wins
The first thing that catches your eye about cash is that the winnings here will be more stable and equal. If you play long enough, you can roughly predict, for example, your monthly earnings.

It's completely different in tournaments. Even the best players can sometimes be left without substantial prizes for months. And because they are constantly forced to pay buy-ins, they gradually lose money.
