LINUX and online poker...

Anyone here use Ubuntu(or any other flavor of Linux) as their OS?

I'm running a Dell AMD quad core laptop with 12G RAM.

I use Virtualbox and a Windoze7 VM to play on ACR/Ignition/Merge with PT4.

Works ok but seems slow at times. Upgrading to a SSD and Ubuntu 20.04 soon.

Just wondering if anyone else does this?

Just doing the old fashion dual boot - Debian / W10

Debian for the important stuff and keeping my private things private, and W for 2 x PS

Photoshop and Pokerstars.

I dual boot Ubuntu, but it was an option when I first installed it. I'm not sure if you would want to reformat your Linux install, but you would be able to setup the dual boot there and partition out the Windows side / keep it the same.

Its a little problematic to install poker software on any Linux OS, but you can find solution in some kind of browser poker sites, like Replay Poker.

Sorry, I didn't follow up on this.
But yes, as I recall, I did install Windows first and then shrunk its partition to make room for Linux. It is harder to make the other way around. It has been a smooth ride ish - sometimes Windows update breaks the booting and only Windows option is visible but I have always managed to fix it manually.

VM not allowed @ BetOnline!

Turns out that BetOnline does not allow VM's.........

Bet their servers are on a VM!

Any idea why they don't allow VM's?

Any other sites have that rule?

I'll try playing the CC freerolls in a Chrome browser on Ubuntu
and see how it works.

Think I'm going to stay with the VM route for now, don't really want to mess
with my Ubuntu install at the moment....
