Mostly I play at only one table to concentrate on my opponents. And because my skills are not so good.

I'll play 4 tables if I'm relaxed and have the mental bandwidth.
If I'm not focused or have other noise in the background, I'll play 1-2 depending if they are SnG/Cash/Tourny.

If you are a new player, then it is best to start with 1-2 tables. If you feel comfortable and control the situation at the tables, then you can add more.

Usually just 2 but it can be 3-4 also. I just play for fun and I'm trying to improve my game.

I believe that some people have already given a Wise Answer: it is better to play only in 2 tables at the most.

I have learned over time that the open tables are not synonymous with "Gain", the players will not win more if they open more tables, they will win more if they can understand the table, understand the opponents, read their actions, learn of their movements and use all that knowledge in our favor, this is the way to play poker well and therefore get more benefits.
It is not an equation: 6 open tables = 6 USD / HOUR, on the contrary, it is about how many tables one can control conscientiously.

How many tables?

I usually play up to 6 tables, it gets better, I try my best to have a strong hand to play.
In the cash game 6 tables, sit go's 6 tables, Mtt, depends on the value, play 3 or 4 tables.

I like to play 1 at a time to focus but I find that if I play small quick games on the side through out the original tournament I tend to do a little better at times but it varies.

I'm more a live player then online so one is enough when online.. sometimes I open a cash game when I play a MTT so I can pause it momentarily if needed...

Never tried more then that.. not my style to play many tables..

-TRP-
Same for me, one at a time so I can focus on the other players and pick-up trends and such

If I am playing Cash tables, I limit myself to 4 at max. If I play fast fold, or zoom or whatever it is called on each site, I only play 2.

Tournament Poker is a little different. I will usually start off around 6 depending on how the scheduling looks for my buy-ins. Once i get into the meat of the MTT's, and/or I have built up a few nice stacks, I will stop adding tourney's every time I bust out. I do not like to find myself playing more than 4 as I near the "money" bubbles. My strategy is that I prefer to be playing "less" instead of "more", as we approach the 20-40 BB end game.

It is pretty obvious that I really prefer to have more time to think about each table in MTT's, once we reach the money and beyond.

Cash, I am OK with 4 tables, I feel that I am always OK with the time I have to make decisions. Occasionally, I will play 6, I just do not like it. Sometimes if a soft Rec player is multi-tabling, I will play as many tables as he is, just to push my edge.:) I hope that is a complete answer.

2 feels pretty good. 3 is starting to push it. With 4 open -- yikes; hard for me to keep track of things. Often results in busting out too early on one or more of the tables.

2 tables is good , more than 2 I lose focus . my concetration , I make too many mistakes and I lose . If it's a freeroll , it's ok for 3 tables :) Optimal for me is only one table , so if I am ITM deep or it's an important tournament , I will play only this game :)

I can play up to 6 tables at once, more than that I go crazy, I have tried to increase the number of tables many times and it is a disaster, I have the habit of looking at all the tables at the same time and it disturbs me one under the other

Hi There
The main thing in poker is Patience and Focus
More than 2 tables you lose focus and attention on other players
I do not do it
Suggest you too follow that

Four is the maximum amount I can play decently. But the ideal number for me is two: one to concentrate on and one to distract me
