Aaahhh... I remember catching the online poker-bug about 15 yrs ago. It was an awesome time. PS's was available in the US and FullTilt was highlighting some of the most memorable heads-up matches the online community has ever seen. It was a good time to be alive. Don't get me wrong, it still is, depending... But that's another topic.
Yeah, the opportunities seem endless when you start to comprehend the situation and the $ moving around "out there" in cyber space. If I can just get a piece of it each and every day, right? That's the mantra, I believe.
I remember making a royal on my second night playing online at PS's. It was so cool (gotta picture the Robot Chicken nerd saying that).

poker is a cool game... you can treat like a hobbie or a profession... but doesnt matter how you treat the game you always have to play the money you can waste

Addiction is not good, but at least you admit it. As long as you are in control of your financial situation, and you're only using disposable income on poker, then all should be fine, once you start using money set aside for bills and food, then there is a problem. Stay in control.
