Does anyone play play money after playing with real money? Real money poker makes you know the true risks of poker, while play money only teaches you the game. Since I have been playing cash tables for years, I don't like to play fake poker or with friends because there is no cash prize.

For me personally, poker with friends is a completely different poker. It is more about friends than about the game and the cash prize does not play a role in it at all. It's always fun to give out some brainless 3bet, bet 3 barrels without hitting the board and then be revealed by a friend and then everyone just laughs heartily at what a fool you are. In addition, poker with friends allows you to simply relax and enjoy the game, without risks, pot odds and notes on your opponents.


P.S. Nobody forbids you to play with friends for money:ROFLMAO:

I play poker for fun, but I only play in tournaments with real money prizes. Poker without real money prizes simply loses its meaning.

Poker with friends is just fun and winning money is not the priority.

You can learn something from everything, even without investing any money.

These are completely different games. And you have to play differently. Lately I have not been attracted to playing with fictitious money.

I think the only time it would make sense to play for fake money is if you have downloaded a new poker site and you want to get a feel for it or if you want to learn how to play a new variant. There are lots of freerolls where you risk nothing playing for real money.

Play money is way too random, people jam every hand and so on. I stick to real money

After I started playing with real money I never played with virtual money again. They are different games and with real money there is much more excitement.

I think Play Money poker is just fun.
It didn't teach me anything, just to always go all in, because the others do the same.
I've never even played Play Money Poker with friends.

Virtual money is not interesting playing the game with money you know that you have to learn poker in order to win cash or at least not loosing a lot

When I go broke I play with play money until I get some more money to play with.

I somehow miss the attraction of not playing for money, preferring freerolls to play money games. In play money games, it doesn't really have anything to do with poker either, they play all kinds of games and go all in. So in my opinion you can't really learn anything.

i agree... the fun is the priority and you can still learn without any money! :D "How to play with fishes" is the commonly learn.
