But parties privy to the various talks between the DOJ and various suitors along the way say the DOJ is genuinely interested in seeing players refunded all of the monies due to them. Towards that end, these sources concur that DOJ made a raise on Tapie’s fourth street bet, once it was clear that Poker Stars would call. Tapie apparently made a crying call. In the next round of betting, DOJ made a continuation bet Poker Stars stayed in and and Tapie insta folded. Thus, the otherwise unfathomable current chapter in the tale of the highest stakes online poker competition played in the history of the game.

I've held my breath for so long I'm turning purple. Getting real tired of nobody ever bothering to try to uphold their word when it comes to any sort of announcement dates. I know the process is long and obscenely complicated, but really can they not at least give us a token scrap of a soundbite when they say they will have an important announcement. This is bulls**t.

They never said they would have any announcement. All rumor mill crap. Doesn't mean it's not true or that it won't happen but expecting some timeline based on speculation is not wise.

WSOP has less than nothing to do with negotiations between Stars and the DOJ.

This is a classic example of wishful thinking combined with human's highly developed ability to find patterns and connections in random, unconnected events.

I believe, there is about a 55 to 60 percent chance that the deal gets done based on Stars's standing in the industry and the DOJ's presumed desire to find a way to wash their hands of what has become a mess. However, neither side will be issuing updates given the sensitive nature of these proceedings. I actually think that the absence of leaks is a good sign. At least it shows that the negotiations are being handled seriously by grown ups.

It will get done when it gets done.

I dont know about anyone else, I am lucky I didnt have a big bankroll on FT but whoever buys it there is no way in a million years that I would play on there again. I didnt like the site before Black Friday and I dont like it now.
I tell a lie, I would go on to withdraw my bankroll and that is it, some people seem to have short memories.

if it was run by Pokerstars why would you not play on it again? the whole of the old management will have no say in the new site, the only similarities would be the software and the name.

tbh i'm still hoping pokerstars doesn't get this deal through and someone else buys it instead, there needs to be competition

I''m all for competition but at this point, I don't believe that there is "someone else". GBT didn't have the money and no one else appears to have the interest. I will take players getting their money back and living with PS mostly benevolent dictatorship vs. no one getting any of their Full Tilt roll back.
