The rumor comes from an attorney's who works for PartyGaming, twitter. Diamondflush, one of subject poker's writers says he's wrong. I tend to believe Diamondflush as she has always been solid before.

Honestly, the best thing to do if you are curious is to check out the thread at

2+2 in NVG. Diamondflush and others are posting some fairly solid info/reasoning in there. Reportdly Andrew Feldman at ESPN (he's their main poker reporter) says the rumor is BS also, his twitter seems to reflect that.

Edit, attorney used to work for Party, does not currently.

Yea - saw it in Twitter - not the same source. Couldn't link it cause I was on my ipad. No idea how reliable the source of that rumor is. It was just relevant news worth sharing.

Unlike Marginal I find it worthwhile to discuss and speculate. I just don't put my "heart" into it one way or another - don't let myself get super excited at good news or super upset at bad. Will wait til news is 100% either way for that kind of emotion lol.

Even with that said if news ends up being bad I will feel little personal upset - got over that a long time ago. But I will be disappointed for the industry as a whole.

The problem with this, is that every single thing is open to debate. There are conflicting reports about everything and not 1 fact can be considered concrete. Everyday its on again, off again. The best thing to do at this stage is to wait and see. Its not that we should not have discussion etc but we are basically debating nothing at this point in time and its been over a year since the original problems so it is indeed, overplayed.

Btw, the reason I say that is because thousands of enthusiasts come here and everyone saying, this is the week, they announce it. And its been going on for a while.

Its basically a waste of time to believe anything right now. Too many optimists and too much he said, she said without actual insight.

Dont get me wrong, I hope I am completely wrong here but there is no progress in this situation at all and I am sick of it tbh. I really cant care anymore if i get my money back or not, I just want it to be over.

It's fine for you not put your heart into it, but when you post things as quoted above, as someone who is well respected here (LDO) and obviously has contacts in the poker world, I think people will take that as gospel, which is problematic when they get let down.

Nothing wrong with sharing rumours, imo, just that when you did, it sounded like when, not if, now that doesn't appear to be the case.

From what I'm reading, including from Stars reps, the rumor about them quitting the deal is false. So Debi's report may still well be true.

When something is 100% certain and I know it to be a fact that is what I will say. Until then I will share things I hear - and what I feel about it - but it is up to you as individuals how much faith you personally want to put in it.

I can add disclaimers after every report. I don't think not sharing things I hear is the right way to go though.

As I said before - until something is definite my heart won't flutter - I would suggest everyone else respond to all news the same way.

And defintely don't take everything I say as gospel - unless I tell you to.

I just want to go ahead and confirm that infact pstars is going to purchase full tilt by the end of the week. I would also like to announce world peace has officially broken out...it could have something to do with the new migration patterns of flyig pigs but experts have yet to determine a link.

I read some links (Twitter) written by PokerStars staff saying the the rumour of deal with FTP being cancelled was FALSE!!!

TBF, a Party Poker exec said that the deal was off and was never a real deal and was just done so FTP couldn't get back in the market. A PokerStars spokesperson told a few news people (ESPN (Andrew Feldman) and poker news) that the tweets were false. They tweeted that and he re-tweeted their tweets stating that the original tweet from the Party Poker exec was false but didn't state what part of it was false or make a tweet of his own clarifying the situation.
