I've played on 888 Poker for a significant amount of time on the micro stakes level. I've played so long, that I actually imagined to redeem 10$ cash from their club program.

Anyways, these angle shooters, decided to make you have to wager $350 on Casino Games, to get my $10 bonus, after I paid them $120 in rake (just for this month).

Greasy move from a greasy poker room, avoid at all costs.

Its not an attractive bonus scheme for sure. But I am pretty sure, it is stated in the TOS, what kind of wagering requirements there are for bonuses. So to avoid feeling cheated, read the TOS next time, you start playing on a new site. Here in Sweden poker sites are not allowed to offer bonuses, so we dont even get those coins for the club program. Maybe thats better, becauce then there is no false expectations.

Another thing they did is they turned off my ultimate cash back spin. I told them, since they wanna run angles they can lose out on few months of rake minimum equating to hundreds of dollars, and that I am taking off my money as soon as I get my cash back spin, and this company actually greasy enough to manually disable my spin.

Worst poker site ever!!!

These guys now immediately flag my account for verification EVEN THOUGH I talked with chat support and they assured me everything would be okay with a withdrawal.

Unbelievable, 888 worst company out there. Terrible site.

Never playing on this site again. So frustrated with there angle shoots.

All poker sites request customers to verify their accounts, before a withdrawal can be made. Its common practice in the industry to fight money laundering, multiaccounting and other types of fraud. 888 Poker is a perfectly fine and safe site to play on. But as with other poker sites you will generally have a better experience, if you focus on winning money at the tables rather than getting caught up in the whole promotions / bonuses / freeroll thing.

I wouldnt be too sure about that since there still seems to be one (major) poker site where i can easily make withdrawals without having to verify my account and it has been this way for years now i think ... Therefore special shoutout to site which operarates illegally in my country :hmmmm2:

Ha ha. Yeah maybe I phrased it slightly wrong. Obviously some people have withdrawn money without verifying their account, if they play on unregulated sites and/or it was a small amount, that did not cause the poker site to request verification. But its still a common practice in the industry and for good reasons. So instead of getting mad about it, just comply and send whatever documents are requested.

I have a bit of an issue with posts like this, because in my opinion they are not particularly helpfull to forum members looking for a place to play poker. We are talking here about one of the poker sites, which CC actually cooperate with and offer freerolls on. And if people are told, they should not play there, because someone is livid about the bonus policy and/or being requested to verify his account, then there are not going to be any places left to play. Which is not particularly helpfull to the CC community and especially not for people, who are looking to eventually make a bit of money from poker.

That's not the point guys, I asked them in chat support, they said everything okay, and then I win a chunk of money, and all of a sudden I need to verify.

This stresses me out because sometimes these sites don't accept certain ID or ask for information that is impossible to attain in my country.

If they want me to verify np, I will send documents and if they accept they accept, if they don't, they don't.

Not okay however to tell me everything okay, and then once I make withdrawal all of a sudden I need to produce more documents?

It's like wow.

Who do you think, you are chatting with? The general manager or someone from an outsourcing center in India, who gets paid a few dollars per hour to do the job? Its the same with all these internet based companies. Of course a chat support person does not have authority to promise you, that you will never be requested to verify your account. Its common sense, so just get it done and move on with your life

Kind of repeating myself now, but if you are looking to eventually make some money from online poker, then dont burn your bridges! There are not that many different sites to play on, and if you think, its going to be less "greasy" to play on for instance PokerStars, GG Poker, PartyPoker or ACR, its not. I have made around 8.000$ on 888 Poker so far, and in that light how important is it really, that a 10$ bonus needs to be wagered, or that your account needs to be verified? Its just not, so keep focus on your own game and building up a bankroll by winning money on the tables.

Now there are 2 incredibly large freerolls, at 5K and 1K, it has been going on for about 2 weeks. I have already won $ 70 at these tournaments, I wonder how long these spring tournaments will be, and since the room 888 is quite fat, there is always you can win some money.

888 is the most profitable site for me. I have little experience, so I prefer freerolls and in fact, thanks to daily and weekly freerolls, I regularly increase my bankroll. 888 is my favorite site.

I hate 888's free rolls, like yesterday I paid them $30 USD in rake, and they give me, about 42cents of free rolls back.

To me it's like F off, I'd prefer them not to even give me the freerolls.

I win money on every site, I haven't lost money on a single deposit in over 2 years.

GG Poker is the only Pokersite who I feel like has treated me fairly (other than the fact they banned me).

Next best would be ACR, then Bodog, then all the other sites have too many deceptive promo's and stuff like that, too the point where I detest them.

- only if some random support member told you "everything would be ok" does not mean you never have to verify.

- if you ever take a bonus on any site, make sure you read the TOS beforehand and dont complain later

- you should not open threads like that here to shy away new players from 888 when it was clearly your own fault for not understanding what kind of bonus you are taking from them. dont get me wrong, im not a fan of their bonus policy

why did u take a bonus by the way? its no more possible to convert the tokens to straight cash?

I did convert the coins to cash, then I notice that it is attached to me wagering $350 on Casino. There is no other way to get this cash other than wager $350 on Casino.

Also, there is no benefit in reading these ToS's. There is no benefit, because how they write the ToS, allows them to just steal your money if they feel like it.

Obviously there would be repercussions, for example there would be tons of angry gamblers spamming the internet saying how you stole there money, and then nobody would wanna play on your site.

However, if they decide to just close up shop, and steal everyone's money, there ToS allows it.

So there really is no value to reading the ToS. It just means you wasted your time reading about how they can jack your money for any reason whatsoever.

Also, people like me, who post things on forums or other mediums, will instigate change.The company wants to maximize it's profits, however, at a certain point these anti-consumer practices which turn profit now, might start to cost them money, as customers might decide they don't wanna deal with being angled.

At that point, we end up with much more consumer friendly strategies.

Anyways, please don't white knight lol.

I don't think 888 is at fault here if it reads in their terms and conditions but I've stopped playing there for almost 2 years because I consider their customer support to be awful.Self excluded myself for a month because I had more tasks at work and when I wanted to play again they told me they wont let me , even tho my self exclusion was not permanent (just a month or so) .I've asked them why are they doing this and explained the situation in many emails until I've got a final email stating that their decision is final and that I shouldn't try to make another account.So....make up your own answer regarding to 888 poker.

Even if I read the ToS, I would post the exact same thing saying how greasy they are. And the ToS talks about bonuses, when you exchange coins for cash, it doesn't sound like a bonus anyways.

At least to me, but either it's irrelevant. It's a greasy move.

888 Rakeback

888 after paying them now $200 this month in rake, I counted all my bonuses/rake back 888 has graciously given me.

They gave me a whole 4$ back, wowwww...

10/10 would play again.

yeah 888 is definitely not a site where you play for rakeback but its softer than other sites. lots of nonsense players and casino gamblers.

are you sure you did not by accident choose a casino bonus when u converted those coins? the last time i did this, there was no casino playthrough required (but was more than 1 year ago so maybe things changed)

its as simple as that: if you not like what they offter, dont play there. your complainings on the cardschat forum will not change nothing. poker players complain all the time and sites dont give a ****.

Yes I am 100% sure, it says cash bonus, it is added as cash into my poker account, HOWEVER, I cannot withdraw it unless I play $350 of casino games.

And white knighting is usually used to describe someone who is taking the side of a company even if the company is acting against there best interest, because they are a fan.

Also it probably does do something, like they obviously care a little bit, or they wouldn't have a support thread lol
