I'm just starting to get serious about learning poker. I've played with friends, but I want to start playing online for real money (micro stakes). There are so many sites (PokerStars, GGPoker, 888, etc.). Which one do you think has the softest games for a total beginner and maybe the best deposit bonus?

GGpoker is good because every day they give you a ticket to play one spin or battle royale.
And the field is quite large, and for those who want to play tournaments, especially those just starting out, it might be better to choose rooms with smaller fields, because then the variance is also lower.

GGPoker worked well for me after 2 years of training on no-money-just-chips Apps (plenty of these with different players from different countries, you have to choose. I would recommend wsop App with reasonably strong players for studying. It was quite a shock for me though to get to the real money poker, people play so differently when actual money are involved. Training is crucial.

100% stay away from GG and Stars. The fields are way to big.

Partypoker is the way to go. If you can play on a desktop or laptop you can also use their new tutor tool ‘Wizz’ that will analyse your play and let you know your strengths and weaknesses and offer ‘missions’ to improve them.

The fields are smaller and softer there are freerolls every hour, plenty of satellites and micro games without all the distractions and gimmiks on the bigger sites. Your minimum deposit on party is £5, min withdrawl is £10 and their withdrawl to visa or applepay is mostly instant. There are loads of offers and bonus’s that you can get without staking (after first deposit). Always spin the party prizes casino wheel daily - i have won £50 cash, and from a 0 bank roll, 5 free spins won me £1.70 which i played 1 10p spin and won £250. Not once but twice. Last week I turned 18p into 5.44 winning a 22c 6 max bounty hunter, (which then turned into £130 in the casino but that’s not relevant).

As a beginner you want to start with sit and gos or lower stake tournaments - between 3am GMT and 3pm GMT is the softest field with 5pm -1am GMT being when the better players are on.

My reasons agains GG are that it encourages pressure play and impulsive decisions. The dramatic music the timed games with auto shoot out if the time runs out, the tournaments are good but the fields are huge, yes the free tickets daily are fun, but I would get some experience before playing there or on stars, stars for a similar reason, tournaments are just huge fields.

For me party has been the best place to learn and grow and gain confidence but also to learn one of the most important skills you need in poker - patience tournaments on party the smaller ones are mostly 2-3 hours long whereas on stars and gg you are looking at 5-6 or 8+ for some - that’s a long time when you are new and eager and the blinds climb and you get no cards.

Absolutely, stay away from Stars, you'll get annihilated there. Literally go anywhere else. 888 is fine. iPoker (any skin) is good for a beginner, in my opinion

Thanks for the info, kinda curious to try that tool :ninja:

I recommend GG poker - especially if you want to start with low bankroll. Their welcome promotion "Honeymoon" is most probably the best. You deposit $20 and in a month, after completing the promo should have $100-200 and no need to deposit anymore. Later on you may decide if it fits you or you want to just withdraw and go somewhere else. At least it is how it worked for me. I stayed ;) And I started as complete fish with zero experience, learning poker.

OP asks about a good room for beginners. Average skill level at Stars is much higher than anywhere else.

WPT Global is currently offering a very good offer for new players. You can combine it with their Christmas promotional offer and get double the rewards.
