Always a good idea not to keep too much of your bankroll on the poker sites as you never know what might happen, especially on less reputable sites.

When you register to any platform you always must agree to terms and conditions. Everybody agrees to them, but nobody bothers to reed them tho....

Regardless what we think of this, its pretty easy to avoid the situation. If we dont intend to play on a site for the foreseable future, there is no point in having funds sitting there. So just withdraw them. If we decide to play again, its usually very easy to make a new deposit. And if the amount is to small to withdraw, like 7$ or whatever, then just kiss it goodbuy. Or spend it on something before leaving the site. A sportsbet, the casino or some final tournaments. Anything.
1 or 2 hands of 1c/2c will take care of the situation (or whatever their lowest limit is.... ie. I think at SB 10nl is the smallest )

Companies put BS in their ToS all the time which turns out to be illegal under scrutiny and therefor invalid.

Either way, a ToS doesn't change the fact that the company doing these things are essentially low life thiefs.

I entered after a while on a platform that had money and found that due to inactivity the money was confiscated, what do you think about this?
It was on PokerStar, I stayed almost 1 year without entering, I researched and really found that condition in the terms so there is no way to appeal, the amount was low even so I expected that when I entered it would be there, but as it is in the terms there is no way to complain .

Disgusting behaviour from PokerStars, if I were you I would still contact the regulator and at least attempt to hold them accountable for their blatant theft.

You would be surprised to know that almost all the sites do this after some long inactivity. Also ewallets do this too.

Regulators will not do anything, its pointless to contact them over this.

Just dont leave money laying around anywhere u dont plan on login/playing and u will be fine. Pokersites are not banks.

Yes there is a way.. it's also in T&C that it's your responsibilty for losing on gambling and yet Pokerstars was ordered by our highest court to pay back over 1,2 million€ in gambling losses.

A court could force Pokerstars to remove that rule . The EU only has to threaten with removing their EU license . If that was to happen PS would be nearly broke lol .
But I'm afraid that would need a lot of people on board..

Around three years back, my anti-virus started blocking 888 Poker, so I gave up tying to play there. My bank balance was around $30.
About a year ago, I decided to try and log into 888 Poker again and low and behold, whatever was causing the anti-virus to reject 888 Poker was sorted.
Good I thought, I'll start playing there again. This was until I saw my bank balance had been reduced to a few cents.
I thought it must have been because of inactivity, but they did not notify me, so it's now a permanent goodbye from me.

While I dont agree with the sites doing this i have heard it happens. I do think with some sites if you contact them after they remove the fees they will put them back on if you ask and tell them your going to start playing more.

I had about $50 on Bodog and after not playing for a while went back to use it and my account had been deactivated. The interesting part of this is when I had a zero balance for many years and never visited the site my account was left intact.

Now that I think about it I had an account deactivated on Ignition and I have no idea if I had money on the account. They told me to make another account, I thought it was weird and I don't remember what I did.

Doesnt matter if it's common or not still illegal
what law is that breaking? Is it an International law?
If I ran a business & informed my customers of an administration fee on dormant accounts. My customer signs up 'signing the agreement', how is it illegal when I collect dues owed?

Hi :)
This is a fairly common practice in almost all poker sites. If you have been absent for more than 6-12 months they reserve the right to freeze your money. Freeze, but do not confiscate. I had a similar situation, and when I went to live chat and answered a few questions, they fully restored my account and refunded all my money.

And some of you guys (Not necessarily 'you' ) wonder why they don't operate in some of your countries. FFS.. this &^ is absolutely ridiculous (if accurate)... pay out the losing players, LOL. Why not just make the winning players pay the losing ones, LOL.

I doubt Pokerstars would go broke, lol. And am pretty sure it's been a huge cash cow since it's inception.

Maybe they should be threatened to lose their license for not holding enough freerolls?

But Debi surely YOU could just tell them "Do you know who I am?!" ;) Pretty sure they'd be depositing to your account rather quickly, lol.

It happened to me years ago, when I stopped playing. Lost like $180 total between 888 and Full Tilt.
I think that the limit time was a year without logging in.

As far as I know, 888 Poker still has this policy. So as I said already, just withdraw your funds, if you dont intent to play. Or log in once in a while, and perhaps even play a few SnGs or a few orbits on some cash tables. Its not like, its that complicated or time consuming ;)
