In the example with 87 players, players would be better off with the traditional guaranteed structure, but in the example with 98 players, the "rake or break" structure is better for players.

Either way as players we should not really expect things like an overlay to happen very often, so for me it makes no big difference. But I do think, its a fun idea, especially if it allow 888 poker to experiment with setting some more optimistic targets.
