Pokerstars no longer in Morocco starting from 19 august

I did received a mail of pokerstars telling me on 19th august they gonna shut down the site on my country any 1 nows why?

When gambling sites decide to leave a certain market, its either due to government intervention or a "business decision", and in the latter case they dont share any further details publicly. In short they felt, that staying in Morocco would not help them earn money.

I received the same email too. It really sucks as I've been playing on PS for years. The funny thing is that this is happening to me for the 2nd time

. I lived in a different country where PS discontinued their services, and now that I moved to Morocco, it's happening again !!!!!

I don't think it has to do with their profit more than with some government regulations.
For any site, the more players the better. Even if they don't have huge BRs, they fill up tables...

But PokerStars were in Spain at that time. I used to play in Tenerife when I had property there, up to 2015. I assumed they are still there.

They closed it to play only regional like italy and france.......... to take the rake by the own country......

Stupid assholes. It's ok for them to go lose billions of dollars in casinos all over the world, but not for us to just have some fun with peanuts.

I think it's obvious. PokerStars has lost its market position and its operations will gradually be wound down in all countries. It is not economically viable for them to renew their licences or operating rights, as the profits they used to make will no longer be there. Don't worry, I think this news is coming for all of us in turn.

Yes because this is a requirement from the italian and french governments. Unlike some other sites PokerStars dont openly violate the laws of the countries, where they operate. Leaving Morocco is probably just a business decision though.
