It seems that each level requires more play to get more points, is that correct?

Yup. The early levels are easy, level 1 is just 1 point, level 2 takes 10 points, level 3 25 points and so on.

My next level takes 5800 points and will take over 2 months, maybe 10 weeks, to complete at my current pace.

There is a chart that shows how many points it takes for each level and how many gold tokens you get for completing each one here:

It's a little easier than it looks since you get a "be active" bonus each level just for playing which gives you 20% of the points for each level.

I rarely play at 888 poker room, so my level is not high. It takes too much time and money to get it up to a good level. I play 1-2 games a week for fun
