February is like 2 and half days away so i may easily try this mission impossible challenge :hmmmm2:

I'd be happy to bet against it.... if you're interested. (freeroll cashes not included of course)

This might actually be a good challenge to have a number of members participating in.... each one also putting a small amount of $'s into a betting prizepool going to whoever pulls it off (or split between winners if there's more than one).

I can only speak about mtts and not cash games.

On the Micro Limits ($5>) - Not possible.
On the Medium and High Limits ($55<) - Very possible.

You will need a starting bankroll of at least $5K ideally $10K to pull this off. Downswings are real and they happen quite often.

On the micro limits on Pokerstars $100-$200 profit per month is a realistic figure.

I know someone that made $1K profit last year from about 1700 mtt games in the micro buyins. Average buyin was around 4 bucks and it took around 8 months

Let's see about that. If i'd be crazy enough i'd probably try it in 3 different sites from saturday - stars,888,unibet - although only the latter is presumably the easiest cause if you lose 20/200 or more in their cash games then you have chance to win (atleast) double amount back ...

Typically when people ask this question, they are putting the carriage in front of the horse. They need a certain amount of money to pay their bills, and then they ask, if they can get that money from poker. But how much money, you can win from poker, is not determined by the size of your monthly bills. Its determined by your skills, your bankroll, and how much time you are willing to put into grinding and off the table study. For sure 1.000$ per month is possible on almost any poker site, but its not possible for everybody.

My friend, help me to make this money, because I try in all ways to get out of scratch and only what I get is bad beat, I play the best way, today I do not bluff more like in the past, always looking to train good games and even then I always end up losing. What should I do to make money? I'm sad about my results.
Alot of times folding most hands, like 90% of them helps. If its just you and one other player, then play more hands. Play aggressive on a couple of hands to try to predict your opponents. See if you can figure out what to bet and when to bet so that your opponent folds.

Few people manage to do it with $ 0 bankroll But if you are no longer a beginner and have about $ 200, it is quite possible. By the way, I didn't know that PokerStars was banned in the US
Yeah i used to play Pokerstars everyday while living in the USA. I guess it has been about 10 years ago. Now i guess the times have changed.

I guess anything is possible. I might just try this challenge out myself pretty soon. It would be awesome to play cards for a living.

I agree with the earlier poster , you need to start with a bankroll of min $5000 , and you need to be an experienced tournament player which basically means you need to be a winning player in the long run before you start grinding.
Playing anything from $20 up to $200 tournaments.

In horse racing if you are good you can make an annual profit of around 10% on turnover.
To achieve $12,000pa , ie is $1,000 per month a good punter would need a turnover of $120,000.

Are you bankrolled big enough to achieve $1,000 per month.
I would say very few players are and fewer still would hit that target.
Many players trying to achieve the target would lose a big amount of money.
Meanwhile the casinos will continue to rake your games, they are the big winners, the dreamers donate too.

I disagree with the statement saying you'd need to play tournaments with buyins $20 to $200.
A person could do this with an average buyin of $5 if they're playing 1,000 to 1,500 tourneys per month.
But do agree with you when you said they'd need to be an experienced winning tournament player. online poker has changed a lot in the past 10yrs. 8 - 10yrs. ago I profitted over $1,000/mth. every month playing recreationally, not much volume and mostly micro buyin levels ($2 to $25). These days I'm not sure if I can do better than breakeven. (I'll know soon though, LOL)

I have been comparing PS to other sites concerning rake. It seems PS has the lowest on the low limits. So if you can pull it off anywhere, it's propably PS. Or am I missing something?

I have a friend that is doing better than that on Bovada, better than double that actually.. He says it's a grind. He also asked me for lessons, what's that mean to a casual bystander.

He's making $2k/mth on Bovada while playing MTT's (on a small'ish' starting bankroll) & he has asked you to be his coach? Is this what you are saying?

$3k/mth has asked me for lessons, joyfully, yes.

Edit: Those would be lessons based on instinctive play style.

Now, not before.

You can, of course you can. But it is quite challenging.
You have to have your metagame well developed and a lot of concentration!

Someone capable of that kind of consistency needs to aim for the big stage, main events. IMO.

Been a member of this forum for a few months now, maybe a year.

Seen plenty of bullshit and bravado postings.......a lot of them.

Now this? $1000 a month on Stars?

I doubt one percent of all the members here could pull this off. Not one percent. I know I couldn’t do it, or I would be doing it instead of pointing it out

Is it possible to be a freeroll/penny grinder and make 1K a month?

Freeroll-wise probably not considering how many freerolls stars has. Not too sure though but should you somehow win all cardchat and jackpotfreerolls tournaments there then even that probably dont help ...

However if you look to 888 then there it's way more realistic to collect your annual monthly salary/1000.- from freerolls (assuming you win more than just min cash ofcourse) ;)

I suppose it's possible. But you need a lot of experience and much luck for earning money. Playing all day long doesn't guarantee a good profit
