Patience and attentiveness. This is especially true for me upon reaching the prize zone. I relax and start doing stupid things

I'm too tight a player and I do get a bit tilty when things go against me, although I don't chase losses and will turn it off during a bad run.

I think my biggest weakness is failing to slow down and really consider what the opposition has when they re-raise me and I have caught a hand. Example recently in a MTT on the Btn, the UTG 2 min raised, Mid position called I had A9o I called, flop A93 rainbow, UTG2 chks, Mid bets 2.5BB, I raise all in, Mid calls , showdown Mid has 99 for a set, I never considered the possibility of a set and at the time I was in the top 3 of the tourney, had I considered a little more I could have just called and if he pushed I could have folded and maintained my position in the tourney, I failed to think. another example here, again I didn't stop and think.

Discipline

My biggest weakness is discipline! I always go to play with a weak or medium hand, although it is better to wait for the winning hand. I will work with myself! :)

The way to improvement is the ability to recognize your own weaknesses, and work on them!

This is true in poker and in life.

So...let this thread be a way for you to focus your attention on your biggest weakness (right now) in your poker game. It could be a technical aspect of the game, or a struggle with balancing time/other commitments. Lets have an open discussion on our weaknesses. :)

How about you?

I very much agree with what you say, in my case I think that my greatest weakness and I think that if it is a weakness is: when suddenly in a tournament I am leading and I have many chips, at some point in the tournament I cannot maintain or increase my chips and this happens for a long time and then is when I suppose I lose control of my game, I think I just think hey you were going well, you can't even keep up and I end up being eliminated near the final table, maybe I lack a little more aggressiveness at those moments

My weakness is lack of patience when you see that others go all-in with any cards. When I do this, I constantly lose.

My biggest weakness is not 100% trusting my instincts. If I always stuck with them during big hands, I'd probably win a lot more of them..

Hi all!

Subtly I have a tendency to believe that my hand is losing or may lose. It is a point in favor but it is also a point against! Virtue and defect
Sometimes I get distracted by the internet!

My weakness is laziness and a high opinion of myself
I am a very talented person and I can master any craft on a professional level, but due to the fact that I am lazy and constantly put off everything, I have not achieved anything ((
how to find the strength to overcome laziness and push forward ...

answer to your post

I believe my biggest problem is overplaying of hands like QQ, KK, AA and AK. I can't seem to lay them down when I get resistance or even just passive calling.

Patience is the most valuable asset to have in MTTs. Cultivate patience at the poker table and your ROI will soar! :)

Have you ever experimented with playing one table only and forcing yourself to pay attention to every hand? It's a great practice!

The hardest aspect of poker is distinguishing the difference between a rational conclusion and "gut instinct." Often hindsight bias makes us think that we had a "gut feeling" and that we should have followed it. Be sure to put your conclusions to the test, to make sure your not simply being tricked by your own brain. :)

P.S. This is similar to the false memory you have a folding trips on boards like 4 4 9, where you tell yourself, "I'm pretty sure I folded J 4!" When you look at the hand history, it was in fact J 5 that you folded. :)

Accurately determining your hand strength is the pinnacle of poker strategy. Think about it, if you always knew how your hand stood against your opponent you would always know the optimal play. So if you chronically are undervaluing your hand, or believing your hand to be more vulnerable than it is, you are either betting too infrequently and missing value, or you are betting too large and missing value. See the similarity? I find heads up SNGs to be good practice at valuing hand strength. Play some micro HU SNGs to work on that advanced skill. :)

See above regarding distractions. :)

I suggest the book, "Ego is the Enemy" by Ryan Holiday. :)

Is basketball being used as a metaphor, or did you literally get injured playing basketball? Either way, know your limitations and (safely) push yourself to improve. :)

Remember, just because you get dealt a premium hand it doesn't have to be a big pot. Just play the value properly and treat it like any other hand. :)

Drinking can be fun for relaxing, but it is one of life's pleasures that easily turns into a vice. Beware!!!

My biggest weakness is not being patient enough to wait for favorable hands. I get bored, or I get tired, or both at the same time ... I don't know, and I start to lose patience, and anxiety wins.:cool:
