Never. Even if I was on the bubble I wouldn't fold. If you're not gonna put your chips in the middle when you know you have the best hand then why even play? So you fold and min cash? Using your example you call have a chance to quadruple up and possibly go on to win the tournament. I'm never folding.

I would also not fold AA pre-flop. Even if I was on the bubble in MTT. I play to win not just get into the money!

Never but in sattelites and maybe on the bubble of a usual tourney with good prizes that are significant for me, of cause being shortstaked only .

I think i would never do that. Because once you're at the poker table, you're willing to risk.

In satellites I have done it , but elsewhere I don't remember and I don't believe I have ever folded AA .
I mean , if I was hesitant to play AA preflop (and I am a tight , maybe very tight player ) , then I would have no reason to keep on playing poker .
AA is the strongest hand , when I have AA , KK, QQ in my hole cards it's my best time , it's party time !!!!!!
Ofcourse postflop it's another story:)

I have never done it. I m sure there might be reason to do so. But I haven’t across it in 10 years of playing

NEVER.

Even if there were several all-ins behind, they're most likely jamming with KK, QQ, JJ or other pairs. It's not worth it to fold.

I would only fold AA's in a cash game if there were 3 or 4 all ins ahead of me.

Hey all, just wondering when, or if, you would consider laying down AA preflop?

I think I would if there were 3 or 4 all ins ahead of me and I didn’t have a large stack nor was I short. After one or two opponents AA I feel isn’t super strong. Even if you were against 3 or 4 lower starting pairs, there’s a good chance one of them will hit (about 20% each).

I think I would rather have suited connectors if I’m in a multi all in pot.

Thoughts?

I would never fold AA preflop. :D

I had this exact scenario in a casino. I also went all in with my AA and I had won the pot which totaled approx $1,500.

Only when on the bubble of a tourney where everyone receives the same prize (such as a satellite), I'm comfortably going to finish "in the money" and several people with larger stacks than me are all-in before me. Other than this specific situation AA must be played for value as it's the best hand pre-flop. Sure it smarts when they're beaten but I'm trying to be profitable in the long-term, not win every tournament.

4+ people ahead of me are all-in and I am covered for chips. Only then am I possibly down below 50% equity.

Depends on the tournament. If I. Short stacked and in the money I'm likely pushing. If there are two big stacks and one is covered .or it would be a push or close.i would back away. However folding AA preflop is almost always never advisable. No matter stack size or tournament placement.

I can really only remember doing it once when I was one seat away from final table and last to act with 3 players before me in the pot for more than I had in chips. It was a $150 buy in tournament at the hard rock in coconut creek fl. I didn't want to risk not making final table with so many good hands that might luck out and crack my aces. I figured 2 of these guys are goin home and if I fold I'm in. Good thing I did because pocket 7's hit trips and took down the pot and I got to get up and go to the final table instead of out the door to lose money at the slots. Moral of the story....Greed isn't always smart. ;)

Hi There
I think that it´s a common sense not to fold AA pre flop
Just wonder what would be a better hand pre flop?
