bankroll for 5 nl

I think that with a 300 $ bankroll is pretty decent to give it a shot at 5 nl... now if you go below 250$ you should go back to 2nl...

Hi mate, the fish are much less than they were during the lockdown so I'm still playing a mixture of 10nl/16nl/25nl thus I won't be moving up to 50nl until I have at least 50 buy ins. with $1000, I'm still a long way off

Bankroll: $1,145 ($1,156 if you exclude the Sunday Storm that I'm currently playing as I type).
Profit: $1,119

Winrate has actually increased this week. Sitting at 19bb/100 over 52.2k hands. Won a nice amount this week too. Had a couple of big sessions.

Interestingly, over the last 8k hands, my red line has actually started to show a positive trend. I must be bluffing more in better spots.

Flopped a set of Kings on AKT board 60bb effective. Villain calls with QJo and I don't boat up. GG my tournament life.

Playing 25nl 16nl and 10nl. Managed to fit in more 25nl this week than before. I actually found two tables of 25nl that were REALLY weak at the same time. Managed to make a couple of buy ins. Mostly the profit is from 10nl as it has the most fish. My winrate at 10nl is 24bb/100 over 37k hands.

Sorry, I made a mistake. It's 25.55bb/100 but it's only over 28,118 hands. It's not so impressive when you realise that it's all just from hunting fish and table selecting. Just gotta be strong and not scared to shove all in with top pair hands. Most people might bet half pot on river against a calling station with AJ. But I will shove all in with just top pair if I think the fish will call with any Ax combination. That's where the high winrate comes from. Bet/bet BET!!

Yes, I look for tables with known fish sat at them. If I can't find that (and I usually don't as they go bust so fast) I look for table VPIP and then stack sizes. If there are lots of odd stack sizes and a high table VPIP then it's likely got fish. And I know most of the regs. I have them all tagged as such. You're totally correct. If I sit down for an orbit or two and don't find any fish, then I get up and leave. I've no worries with my pride. Happy to just leave.

That winrate is fantastic, don't worry too much about it declining. Even 10bb/100 is crushing! That being said, the highest winrates are defintely worth going for, but that is literally down to table selection. You really can't get the highest without table selecting (which you clearly are doing).

Keep up tjhe good work. Are you on 5nl still? I would throw in 1 table of 10nl and 3 tables of 5nl if I were you. Use "cashout" on 10nl if you're uncomfortable. Great way to move up more quickly.


I haven't played more than 10 minutes when I was drunk (won $14 lol) I'll be back playing after I'm done with RDR2.
