I think, rake is typically going to be an issue in these games. Preflop equities tend to run somewhat close, and its difficult for others players to get it THAT wrong, when they only have to make one simple decision per hand. Even if someone play to many hands, their lower equity will partly be compensated by the fact, that they win the blinds and antes more often.
I agree with you, I think that this is a very volatile game, and it is almost impossible to play plus in it at a distance.

The optimal strategy should be very easy to solve for such a simple game. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the regs are playing with solved preflop charts that give them a huge edge.

I've played a version of this called "Tempest" on PokerStars, same idea, push or fold. Pretty boring skillwise tbh.

It could be profitable if there were enough fish playing to overcome the absurd amount of rake you'll be paying.

Earn quick and lose quickly, I think jackpots are drawn here for a reason. But this version of the game takes place.

I just randomly started playing All In or Fold on GGPoker. Trying to see other game modes for Hold Em.

After playing a few hands at the $2 buy-ins, I was wondering if there was a potential for this game mode to be profitable. Tables seem to be soft, and anyone with a face card seems to love pushing that All-In button.

Just my luck, I was dealt KQs and made a Royal Flush. Won an entire jackpot!

Now, I'm wondering if anyone has expierence with this game mode. Has anyone had success playing this mode? Or was this just blind luck? because I feel like this game mode is an easy way to lose or gain money fast.

Thanks!

Easy way for the poker site to make money! All-in or fold is like playing a fruit machine it has no skill element and it has the "Dirty Harry" element "Do you feel lucky Punk? well do you"
No Thanks! Not for me.

PokerStars got a similar variant of this game and I tried few times. Its based more on luck, or at least anyone goes all in with junk cards but it's fun and I don't think there's many regulars there lol

I think there was good luck with it. If you get a royal flush with KQ and win a huge pot, you must have been very lucky. I only want to go all in preflop in cash games if I have aces or kings. Because mostly you dominate your opponents with these hands. Alone against any other pair you're 80:20 ahead. There is no better way to invest your money in poker. It doesn't make sense for me to always be all in with face cards. You will often be dominated on a call. Let's say you go all in with AJ. Every opponent who calls I give a hand range of AQ+ and TT+. You will be dominated against (almost) every hand in the range. Only if your opponent has TT it is 50:50. I don't think you can play profitably in the long term. You may win a few smaller pots by stealing blinds, but you will also lose some large pots.
