ok let me set a good example and get this thing moving by posting a life update.
So first off I play almost no poker. I had a stint where I put some money on global, but I never trusted enough to actually have a roll for midstakes and when I tried to grind it up from 50nl I would always make it to 100 or 200nl before I'd get drunk and multi-table 5/10 hu with my roll on the tables. One time I ran it up enough to make a few withdrawals but it was never long before it was gone lol. I was also doing credit card churning during that time and deposits count as CC "purchases" so that was great. I think I ended up around +500 when I realized there were better uses of my time so I just withdrew it all. I've played live a few times. Scourge here (idk if he posts here or not?) has a pretty popular poker vlog for those who didn't know and he lives in my area so he's hosted a few meetup games for people who watch. I've been able to make a few and they're tons of fun: lots of bomb pots, crazy 300bb bluffs, etc. I've run super hot in those and despite the fact that I probably play something like 60/55 at FR I still do remember kinda how to play a few people got super frustrated that I would play so many
hands but somehow when 300bb got in I always had the nuts lol. Other than that I've gone with friends to AC a few times to mostly just drink/degen but played a few drunk 1/2 sessions and even a few serious 2/5 and 5/10 sessions. Nothing really of note I had one fun A-high call in a medium pot at 2/5 against this lady pretending to be a nit, but other than that really can't remember any hands at all. Usually I get bored after a few hours and want to move down to 1/2 and drink again or move to table games and drink again. I've run relatively good at poker but I think if you include table games I'm down a few thousand in the last year or so
gambling.
blackjack is the devil.
In other life stuff I got a new job in July of this year. I used to be a quantitative analyst working on mortgages at Fannie Mae, and in my new role I am a senior quantitative analyst working on mortgages at PNC bank. It's basically the same job but with a ~30% pay bump, and the new company's a year or two behind tech-wise. That can be incredibly frustrating at times but it's also cool because I'm one of the people driving the improvements and I'm going to do my best to remove the red tape that was happening at my old job before it's put up

. Also because PNC sponsors the Nationals, and I work in DC, the world series trophy made a trip here today and I got a picture with it:
In other personal news, I proposed to my girlfriend of 6 years about a month ago and she said yes

:
We just picked the venue/date the other day (6/27/2020) and wedding planning has been kinda hectic and kinda expensive but kinda fun.
So anyway that's my life update, what about everyone else?
