Besides a stop loss I find myself tempted to leave when up 2.5-3 BI. I don't play many rings but have been increasing that lately. One session in particular I remember was myself hitting a heater as soon as I sat down. Went over 3xBI in the first 5 hands. Sure I could have stayed but between being possibly on an up-tilt I felt that I had a target on me at this point so I left. Even if it's just to bank it and sit back down I feel this is a good approach because no matter what happens now I still banked my profit.

If Im playing a cash game, I give myself a goal to hit. When I hit it I'll stop. But at times I runn bad and need to stop early and switch tables or just go get a Jack and coke to relax me.
