I am alittle confused to what this is saying, but against a solid opponent, calling an allin with middle pair and a 3 kicker is probably a BAD idea...

Top pair is ok I think, but middle pair against a tight player is probably not a good idea. I guess it depends how much the pot is and how much you have invested in it.
