Vanq, get checked out for bipolar, it will just be some straightforward questions, then they take it from there. Ive got it, had it for 23 years and counting, it is treatable. I just get f**ked up if I dont sleep enough, but I have tablets for that.

Yeah vanq definitely no big deal if it hasn't derailed your life completely. Important that you get proper care and all that, but don't let the idea of having to say you have this thing scare you out of getting some help, and don't try too hard to self diagnose. I can just about guarantee your school will have someone on hand that your health services will direct you to.
In cases of bipolar drugs are often an important thing to get behind, but I am always an advocate for some help from a councelor too. Learning behavioral methods to deal with the impulses and understanding what your brain is doing will probably go a long ways for you in being comfortable with and actively controlling the condition whatever your professional determines it to be.
Also, be ready for a kind of tedious process with psych meds if it comes to that. Long times before they are active, coupled with some trial and error as to which type and dosage can be frustrating, but finding the perfect fit is worth it.
