The main thing is to set a goal, write a plan, and move towards achieving it slowly but surely, step by step.
Thats exactly what it takes. Study, have a plan and never deviate from it. Just like in poker. Patience and discipline a must.

I have certain difficulties with blackjack. There are moments when you lose $15-20 and want to quickly win it all back. And that "quickly" ends in even greater losses. I need to learn from my mistakes.

Yes. You really have to be mindful to not chase losses, and stick to your budget that you've set for yourself. And you must set a budget! It's super important in my opinion.

Just a friendly heads up to all BJ players. playing basic strategy almost evens the odds vs the house. but players should try to develop a betting strategy as well something where when you enjoy a win or two you increase your bet until you lose and dont increase again until you lose 3 or more in a row then increase bet. etc

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already in the thread, but when selecting a BJ table to sit at, I think it is very important to see how the players are playing, especially the person in the last seat to act, that person can be the difference in you and the whole table winning or losing.

The person in the last seat to act needs to be someone that has experience in that position, they need to be careful as they can take the card that could have busted the dealer when they could have sat and let the dealer bust.

I hope that makes some sense.

Ah okay this is also about the other players at the table. I actually thought in blackjack we only play against the casino, the bank so to speak.

Yes you technically only play against the dealer however the player in the last (anchor) position can be the difference between the dealer busting or winning. If the last player is using Basic Strategy. then all is good. however if the last player is the type who hits 14 against a dealer low card then that is to the dealer advantage. example. you are in last place dealer has a 6 up. you have 14 you hit and get a face card and bust dealer has 16 next card a 3 dealer wins table loses and would have been the reverse had you sat on 14...Bad anchor

Or from this nicely presented free course if you haven't seen it yet.

Yes i have been watching this and have learned some but not being a big player of BJ i'm not really getting the whole thing about where you sit:confused: are you not just playing the house? Or will i learn about that in the later lessons as i'm only on lesson 4 atm.

Technically you are playing against only the house but as previously stated your play and action may effect the final outcome of a hand thereby affecting all players

When I first started to play Blackjack, I made the mistake of not knowing about the last person to act, and I made some people very very unhappy, I quickly moved from the last seat, and ever since I check out the player that is last to act, if they show they know what they are doing, I then sit down.

It's always good to hear advice from those who have been playing longer, as it allows you to learn from others experience, avoid mistakes, and make wiser decisions. Since i only play poker, i'm quite new to this area. Now it's time to put it into practice.

Yes this is very true my friend. Even though I haven't still never played this game of blackjack it's very interesting to read and hear about the experience of other people.

I don't know how much more often I'm going to play Black Jack, but here are very detailed materials for learning and exploiting knowledge for this game.
thanks

Hey Vlad,:), how are you man?

Have you played it before or not yet?
In any case, I could assure you that, after poker, it's the best casino game ever. So much fun to play and its fast pace makes up for the monotony of a poker table.
However, it's just as dangerous as enjoyable. Don't play before you study the game and practice for free.

You probably saw this here on the forum, if not, take a look, it's very nice and helpful:

I don't think there's a section about that in the course, but just finish it, it doesn't take that long, and it's really very nicely presented.

Hi, my friend, Sami, of course I played, but only online, but the experience was not very positive, because there was no knowledge base that is now provided. And I also tried to fight with a non-living blackjack, sometimes there were victories :ROFLMAO:

You fought with a "dead" Blackjack? :ROFLMAO:. That I have never done yet ;):ROFLMAO:.
Anyway, I wish you the best luck whatever you play.
See you at the tables bro.

I really like playing live blackjack with auto decisions on. that way i never make a mistake or mis a click! I think they make a ton of money from people misclicking/ not acting in time.

That's a great thought!!!!!! So right too...
It happened to me thousands of times. I stayed instead of hitting, hit instead of doubling up. All profit for them. A nd that happens especially if you change games and the buttons are not in the same place!!!!!!!!

Blackjack is a card game where the goal is to reach 21 points or get as close as possible without going over. Numbered cards are worth their face value, face cards are worth 10, and the Ace is worth either 1 or 11. You compete against the dealer, who must follow fixed rules to play. You can hit, stand, double down, or split your hand.
My preferred strategy is to stand if I have 17 or more.
