Yes that's true. But to a software, they are both losing money and I don't think it's programmed to distinguish between the two.

The program probably doesn't know, but those that analyse the software do. I wouldn't be surprised if the software flags people with gambling issues, and I also wouldn't be surprised if casino's targeted those people flagged with gambling issues.

Overall, it's the player's responsibility to manage their BR. And if they fail to do so, they only have themselves to blame.

Responsibility goes out the window when addiction is involved.

I firmly stand by my opinion: in certain cases, winning a lawsuit against a casino can be used as an indirect method of avoiding payments or even as a form of money laundering. Why? Because the money obtained through a court ruling is not taxed in the same way as a casino’s profit. Especially when the awarded amount is much higher than the loss being claimed, a clear fiscal imbalance arises.
It’s a psychological and legal mechanism that can be exploited:
Emotionally, to justify recovering the loss.
Legally, to obtain funds with favorable tax treatment.
Strategically, to avoid profit taxes or other obligations.
