I never buy free spins , it can easily destroy my bankroll in no time . It's a recipe for disaster imo . Also it takes away all the fun of the slots . I like waiting for the free spins , wager money , raising bets , trying for a big reward in relation to money invested . I also see some streamers buying free spins all the time , losing all the time , I used to watch streamer trainwreckstv doing this in the past . Of course he was paid by the| casino to play .

Totally agree. If playing for fun, why invest money and sit there watching the machine spin over and over?
Besides, every side bet or a trick added to a game by a casino is only meant to increase the house edge.

On the free spins question — they’re not always profitable. In most cases, buying free spins has the same RTP as playing normally, sometimes even slightly lower depending on the provider. So over the long run, the casino still has the edge.

That said, free spins can be good for:
  • Faster variance (you hit bonus rounds immediately)
  • Chasing high-volatility wins if you’re comfortable with swings
  • Clearing certain promos or competitions quicker

But if someone expects guaranteed profit from buying spins, that’s usually not realistic. You can spike a big win, but more often than not you’ll end up roughly at or below what you paid over time.
Also, a big rule: limit the money you spend to whatever you don’t need — treat it as entertainment, not income. If you stick to that mindset, free spins (and slots in general) are a lot less risky and more enjoyable.

Curious what others here think, especially anyone who tracks RTP over a decent sample size.

Well, you're the 1st one who came up with a real analysis of the situation. Thank you.
And I totally agree with everything you said though I'm far from being an expert.
