Most people are not as wise as you are Tammy. I bet 60 to 70% would stay hoping to get their money back.
Well, in my youth and early casino trips I was this person. I learned from the school of hard knocks.
I would never spend any serious amount of money on slots,

...I get bored after 5 minutes no way I could play that for hours,

but ok let's pretend.... I would stay... not to get money but because who

goes home at 10 pm???, ....you're in a casino the nights just getting started 😅🎉
But honestly, this - I absolutely hate playing them, so boring to me too. I would definitely be in the poker room or blackjack tables instead.

I was too; I have to admit (Yeah, those early trips!).
And learned the hard way. A long walk to a bus station once, at night, thought me a valuable lesson.

To be honest, I would have gone home right after that poker tournament instead of going through the blood-sucking slot machine nightmare.

that's a really good question probably some people even experienced it but no way you should stay as soon as you lost something you just call it a day and go home. There is a big chance if you try to get more money you end up losing even more more money

If I manage to double the amount I planned to spend, then for me that is an indicator that tells me that today's plan has been fulfilled. Usually, this is the result I strive for and I definitely don't allow myself to spoil it. Therefore, after doubling, I go home. What will I do when my result triples?
I will run home.

I wish everyone was as disciplined as you are. It would've been no addicts and no degenerate gamblers ;). Maybe some casinos would even go out of business, unless they want to stop being greedy and give poker players the whole floor :ROFLMAO:.

I wouldn't get in that situation either. I've played slots all of 1 time in my entire life and it was at the Casino that is within walking distance of my home (less than 1 km away).
Like I said, I wouldn't get in that situation either. I could walk home in 10mins. to grab more cash & head back. Why wait for 2 more hours at the Casino???

You went to a casino with no cash, so you withdrew some money from an ATM and played a poker tournament in which you made the money.

Now you have about 3 times the amount you started the day with, and you got tempted by a nice Slot machine you saw on your way out. Sure enough, you sat and played for a couple of hours, but ended up losing most of what you had, then you went to a Blackjack table hoping to get even, only to lose everything.

Without giving it any thought, you went straight back to the ATM, but you couldn't get any money as you had exceeded your daily limit.

It was around 10pm, would you hang around till midnight to be able to withdraw or just go home?
In such a situation, discipline helps you make the right choice. At least it helps me. If your goal is profit, then the best decision is to keep the profit you have already made. If your goal is entertainment, then you can continue playing as long as you have money :)

That's what I call a solution 😂. Get it now, why wait?
Well, I was assuming the casino would be some time away. But if it were as close as in your case, walking and coming back could be kind of beneficial. By the time you are back, you probably would've shaken it up.

The decision I would have made at that moment would have depended on my mood. If I had stayed, I would probably have continued playing and spending money. If I had gone home, I would have gone to bed and had a good night's sleep. I would have decided to do whatever was right for me at that moment.

Well, at that time, and after having lost the money you came in with and what you've won in poker, I think anyone can guess what mood you are in.
The question becomes: Are you tilted enough to make an emotional decision? Or are you strong enough to make a logical one?

Imo his really depends the person. Some will do the logical decision and some will do the tilted decision. If you play already for a long time it's probably more easy to make the logical decision.

That moment when you’re chasing losses and waiting for midnight to hit the ATM again is a dangerous one.
It’s not really about wanting to play anymore, it’s about trying to undo the sting of losing, which almost never ends well.
Walking away is the smart move.

I couldn't have said it in better words. That's exactly what it is. Trying to "undo" the losing damage. And yes, especially that the person is on tilt and tired, that could only lead to disaster, at least most of the time.

Keep your guilt, it will protect you from making bad decisions in the future.I generally agree with everything, but I think your post is a cry for help and you need to hear the truth. This means you have a gambling problem, and this is your chance to change everything. You need to take advantage of it and take action.

It all depends on how I feel. If I'm feeling good, I'll definitely keep playing. I have to say that in most cases, I almost always drink when I play, and I'm almost always in a very good mood :)

But we're talking about the case where you have nothing left to play with! The choice is to go home or wait till midnight so you could withdraw more money.

I am quite conservative, but at the same time disciplined and responsible. I always have a plan that I stick to. I rarely and reluctantly change my plans. I plan every day, week, month, and year. And of course, I always have a plan when I plan to go gambling. If a game is not part of my plan, then in 99% of cases I will not play it. If my plan was to go home on time, then I will definitely go home :)

If you really stick to all those plans no matter what the circumstances might bring, I'll just say: Bravo.
