As a Poker Lifestyle, do you drink alcohol while playing???

I'm 29 years old, I started drinking at 17 and I've been drinking heavily ever since, I've drunk at any and all times, fortunately I recently discovered that games can be played for profit, for many years I played for fun, obviously thinking about a possible profit, but predominantly for fun, because most of the time it was considered fun, most of the time it was accompanied by drinks, if it's just for fun, party, if you don't need to win, just want to really have fun, hit cards, drink and always play it. But if you are playing for profit, if your intention is to win, do not drink, the drink will slow down your senses and diminish your perception, choose to always play consciously and try to make the best possible decisions, remaining conscious, studying, focusing and dedicating, you will reach your goals.

I used to drink and I was much more loose and it often cost me a lot to play like that.

I am not much of a drinker to start, so never during a game, but maybe one or two before if there is enough time

I rarely drink alcohol. Only when there is a good reason. But I never play drunk. The game requires concentration, endurance, and alcohol, in my opinion, will be superfluous, because it will only lead to mistakes. Although I know for sure that it's fun, but I always take the game seriously.

My experience of combining alcohol and poker has always been a sad one. I came to the conclusion a long time ago that alcohol and poker in the form of earning money are incompatible.

Luckily i don't have such experience.
And i think that that alcohol can't help during the game.
But it's only my opinion.

Nope. No booze whilst playing. Impacts judgement way too much.
Not sure I'd want a depressant when a stimulant would be more appropriate.
But apart from coffee and smokes...no other stims for me either.

I have found myself falling asleep whilst playing though. Usually when I play a freeroll before bed, win it and end up in a Pciofic Rim match (when I'm living with GMT timezone).

I used to drink a few beers while playing but I figure I don't play my A game anymore , so I stopped .
To be honest I think it's not a good idea to drink while playing .

I used to do that a lot, but it's very complicated because of the impulsive attitudes that you cover during the game, so it's not good to mix fun with something that will bring you future goods and profit!

I have drank and not drank ; won and loss either drinking or not ; played awake and asleep while drinking. Not sure it really makes much difference, but would tend to 'think' that drinking impairs thinking skills and thus would not be a good idea when playing poker or attempting to do anything requiring sound judgement and good decision making. It can result in bad poker playing for some folks and good poker playing for some others. As an example, England's Prime Minister Winston Churchill comes to mind (and, I can think of others). However, my preferred drink is Scotch.

I don't drink alcohol at all and that's why I don't have experience of playing in a state of alcoholic intoxication, but something to show me that there is nothing good in this !!!

Although at the local casino I heard about this guy who was playing blackjack while drinking heavily. He just could do no wrong, even with the silly proposition bets. He passed out at the table, so security poured him into bed in one of the hotel rooms. The next day, he had no recollection of what he'd won -- over a quarter million.
