I think that not everyone can become a regularly winning player in a lot of poker. But everyone can achieve a minimally positive player with due persistence in the study of theory and skill sets.

Yes, anyone can become a good poker player. The thing is, being a good player is not enough to win anything substantial, unless you get really lucky in (cash games). But if you do win big in cash games, the tendency is you keep playing and if you rely on luck too much, chances are you will lose (in the long run) especially if your skill level is mediocre or just good.

Long lasting success at poker requires an adaptive mindset, which has the capability to identify new ways to achieve success. Not all minds are able to process such multi-layered inputs. The minds that are not able to adapt/think of new concepts, can be taught to play a certain way, but it will only work for a definitive period of time. Your aim shouldn't be how to play, but how to think.
