What gives you more money plus by playing in CASH or playing in Tournaments?

I play in tournaments, but I began to notice that I am very exhausted on them and do not spend much money on them . Here I think maybe I should go to the cache ? Share your vision ?:deal:

each format requires different skill sets, and which one makes you more money will depend on your skills

if you have massive patience, and plenty of hours to play poker each day, tournaments may be more profitable for you

if you don't have good patience and only have a few hours to play each day, cash games will likely be more profitable for you

tournaments require much investment of time and smaller investment of money

cash games require less investment of your time, but a bigger investment of your money

there is no easy route to making money in poker, just because cash games requires less time investment, that doesn't mean you can make money quicker... in my opinion, cash games are much harder to succeed than tournaments... but since we're only going to cash in 20% of our tournaments (which is a typical cash rate for a good tournament pro), we can go a LONG time in between making money when we play tournaments, so you have to be prepared for that.

It really boils down to personal preference and what your specific skills are. Best wishes whichever poker method you choose! I think it is best to play both methods, cash and tournaments, because each skill set can help the other out. Becoming a good cash player will help your tournament game, and learning tournament skills might improve your cash game, teach you a bit of patience, etc.

Mtt, in my opinion most profitable

Good morning everyone, in my opinion Mtts are much easier to make money than cash games. The secret of poker is to play a lot of Mtts and study that you will win more and more money, I really like cash games, I think it is much more fun to play cash zoom, than Mtts, but it is a more difficult game to master. I read a news on the superpoker website, that a player who used to play $ 1 Mtts, won a ticket to the pokerstars sunday million, playing satellite and spiked Mtt, earning $ 1,192,802.46, playing Mtts you can have one day good and spike a Mtt and earn a lot of money, more playing cash games, you will hardly win more than $ 1,000, only the players who are the best in the world earn more than that and if you play micros, which is my case to win $ 50, you have to play something like 40 or 50,000 hands. You are more likely to make a lot of money from Mtts than by playing cash. I also had a dismay with poker, but I learned a little about the variance of the game and today I am very calm and I know that the secret is to play a lot, that one hour comes the big hit.

I like more tournaments because without investing a lot you can make a profit, I try to play the satellites to qualify in tournaments ,,, in cash for me it is difficult because in a single hand you can lose a lot of type all in preflop with AA and you lose and you have to row, personal point of view but I consider that there is greater benefit in tournaments:jd4::jd4::jd4::jd4:

I see cash as an improvement on deep stack MTTs. These are the stages of tournaments with a strong line-up at the beginning of the tournament for example

Definitely cash game because in cash games you need far less luck to win money. I am not a fan of tournament poker. Television has made tournament poker look glamorous and like a competition where skill prevails. However, the truth of the matter is that luck plays much larger factor in tournament than in ring games. Think about it this way: at a regular no-limit game, if you started with $ 2,000 what is the chance that you would end up with $ 2 million before the night was over? Zero. However, to win a tournament where each player has 2k starting chips and 1,000 people enter, you would need to win two million in chips to win the tournament. Not an easy feat to do unless lady luck truly smiled upon you that day!

Tku for your contribution, it complete text. I think the okay cash game is more dangerous. You need a good stack against villains.

in tournaments the luck factor is more present and you need more time daily.
Cash is the game where you can develop your stack with patience.
I like playing both :

cash 70%
tournament 30%

In my experience its easier to make money in small field MTTs than either cash games or STTs. The downside is, MTTs require a lot of time committment, and variance is also going to be larger. This is for online poker. If you are a live player just starting out, there is probably no way around going to the cash games in your local casino, since these run every night, which MTTs dont.

I think cash games are more profitable, but for my person, I made more profit in MTT's (Maybe because there are a lot of freerolls, maybe as a beginner, few months ago, I had great losses in cash).
Anyway, with patience and good bankroll management, cash might be more profitable. Also important is to take the right moment to leave a table. Sometimes I was succesful at a cashtable and felt as the dominating player which leads to less patience and concentration and my gains disappeared rapidly.

Tournaments are more profitable IMHO- specifically Sit and Gos. I play exclusively 6 max so there is little variance and I'm in the money 45% of the time and I make a killing. In larger MTT tourneys luck becomes a bigger factor. Even if you are skilled and always get your money in as a 70- 85% favorite, it still takes luck not to bust. I occasionally play cash games and I'm profitable, but it's a slow grind and the strategy is very different. And it's kind of boring.

I also don't have the time (or the patience) to play large tourneys. And to play for 4 or 5 hours to only make double your buy-in, or worse bust out. No thank you.

i just switched from sit n go and tournaments I found my concentration would waver and the next thing I knew i was out.
The other day was my first go at a 10/20 ring game I figured that was something I could handle and most players would at a similar skill level. I started with $10 and over an hour so was up to $38. then boom I was back to zero. the sad thing is I could see it happening and didn't do anything to stop it.T he only one to blame was me for changing the way I was playing. Mostly conservative with some bluffs thrown in late hands. Does anyone with experience in micro ring games have any advice. Thks

For me it all depends on the grind I'm looking for. I prefer trny's and sng's but I also like playing PLO and PLO8, where I have way better results in ring-games.

for me tournys are generally more reliable to make money from. Less risk of bots. However, it sucks having to spend 5+ hours in ONE tournament to maybe make some money.

Hi! The cash game is different from the mtts, you should study it before playing, but it allows you a much more controlled management of your money, since it has much less variance and playing with sufficient funds will only depend on your ability and time to increase profits and climb levels. The mtts are very hard in terms of their variance and it is difficult to estimate how much money you can win or lose in the short term, but if your skill in tournaments is higher than the average you could decrease the variance by playing sit and go, you can choose from a table with 9 players and from there see if you increase your buy in or choose to play against more opponents, but this will increase the variance, therefore also if this is more profitable than mtts. Greetings and good luck at the tables!

There are sure to be pros in the cash game who play for very serious amounts online or live.
But there are a good few serious tournament players who have plenty of extras in their careers.
There are definitely sites where these are listed. :hmmmm:

Someone’s style of play is more profitable in cash play and someone’s in tournament poker, and there are players who aren’t profitable anywhere. It is best for them to play only freerolls and play-money games.
