I love this kind of poker even more than Hold'em or Omaha. I can play a game for hours on end and it feels like I've played for about 5 minutes. However, there are a lot of ispersions in Chinese poker and you can lose a lot of money very quickly. That's why I don't play very often and at low limits.

You mean Chinese poker is more unpredictable than other types of poker. I don't like playing games like roulette that are very uncontrollable. I don't even want to try to play.

I met and played for a few months and liked it, at the former Tony Bet.

Today I don't know where to find it online anymore....

I've never played Chinese poker before, but it would be interesting to know what kind of poker that is. So I would like to ask if you might like to bring some examples where you can see the difference between normal* poker and Chinese poker.

Yep similar

You deal the cards, grab your opponents wrists...then with the edge of your cards rub vigorously against their skin until big red welt marks appear.

That, my friend...is Chinese burn poker NL

Back when I used to work in the casino, we would play Chinese poker almost everyday on break. We would play a couple different varieties, and had a lot of fun playing!

I'd say the game is mostly luck (assuming you are playing against a halfway competent person). ;)

I tried to play it in freerolls, before that I read the rules and it seemed very complicated to me, I still did not understand what strategies should be applied there.

You get 13 cards and have to build 3 poker hands out of the 13 cards (a 3 card hand and two 5 card hands). Your 3 card hand is on top and the two 5 card hands are below, and the hands MUST increase in strength as you go down (if not this is a fouled hand and automatic loss).

After the hands are built, they are then matched up against your opponent and you get 1 point for each hand that wins (top hand vs opponents top hand, middle vs middle, bottom vs bottom).

Usually you determine a $ amount per point and just keep playing hands until someone quits.

You can play blind Chinese (which I prefer) where you flip one card at a time and have to place it (top/middle/or bottom). This is more challenging than being able to look at all 13 cards and then place the hand (obviously fouling is much less likely when know all your cards, it should NEVER happen). In blind Chinese, fouls happen all the time because you don't know what your 13 cards are (you only reveal 1 at a time while having to place the card in either the top/middle/or bottom rows.)

Thanks for that, we have a similar game in the UK.

Its the same 13 cards, but you must make 4x 3-card brag hands, with I think a black 2 being a joker.

Then you lay them out against your opponents, and score top to bottom.

You could have 3 aces, but if your next 3 hands are bad, you still only made 1 pt

This is what Chinese poker looks like. Read the rules of the game, it's very interesting.

I agree with you. Playing blind is much more interesting and difficult. There is a good chance that you or your opponents will collect a dead hand.

Never tried this, looks a bit complicated but I can see the entertainment value in this. Guess I am back to the school bench learning a bit about Chinese poker.

Its something you play with friends on a gambling and drinks night...because it requires a pen and paper.

First to however many Pts agreed to, and how much each individual wagers. We play a similar game.

The hands must be made in order of hierarchy....so your first hand may be great but you might give 2 pts away on the other hands.

As much or as little as you like...do you have card nights with friends?

I ask as I'll give you a much more enjoyable version of the the game to play for money.
