I'm not really sure what you mean by feeling safer, so I'll go with a couple of things.

1. If you mean safer from being cheated I'm more comfortable playing live. Since I play mostly tournaments that really isn't much of a consideration in either venue, but for cash games collusion would be much easier to get away with online than in person.

2. If you mean physically safer, then I feel much better playing in my own home. At the casino, especially after the sun goes down, walking through the parking garage/lot can be scary, and with good reason. I'm usually smiling but in this situation I'll have a sad look in order to appear as someone who lost all of her money. That way I hope to eliminate one motivation for someone to attack me.
I agree 100% with you. Im not sure as I don’t play live but in a casino, if a person wins big and does not feel safe walking to their car, can they request a chaperone to their car? Or even if they did not win anything and do not feel safe? Just wondering

Im still too nervous to play live hehe :)

I only played once at the real table
It seems to me that online is safer but only in large poker rooms.

I'm not sure what you mean by "safe" in terms of playing poker, don't think I've ever felt unsafe playing poker... sometimes my cat likes to jump up on the laptop and swing his tail in my face but that's about it as far as unsafe goes👍...

i don't think "safer" is the word, but cosier.
You can start and stop whenever you want, you can do if trom home in your underwear, you don't have to be so composed, attentive at your every gestures and so on

No, I don't feel safe because when I play, I always understand that there is a great risk of losing my bankroll and ending up with no money.

Since my fear of giving my personal credit card info is gone, I feel pretty safe playing online. I will never play live i case I win a big amount. I'm a widow and I feel safer at home.

Both playing poker online and in person have their own advantages and considerations when it comes to safety. Here are some factors to consider:

Online Poker:

  1. Financial Safety: Online poker sites use encryption and secure payment methods, which can provide a level of financial security. Reputable online poker sites have measures in place to protect players' funds and personal information.
  2. Player Safety: Online poker allows you to play from the comfort of your own home, eliminating the need to travel to a physical location. This can reduce potential risks associated with physical interactions, such as safety concerns at late hours or in unfamiliar environments.
  3. Game Integrity: Online poker sites employ sophisticated algorithms and security measures to ensure fair gameplay. However, it's crucial to choose reputable and licensed online poker sites to minimize the risk of encountering unethical practices or cheating.
In-Person Poker:

  1. Physical Safety: Playing in a reputable, well-regulated poker room can provide a sense of physical security. The presence of security personnel and surveillance cameras can help deter and address any potential issues that may arise.
  2. Social Interaction: In-person poker allows for face-to-face interaction with other players, creating a social atmosphere. This can enhance the overall experience for some players who enjoy the social aspect of the game.
  3. Live Tells and Reads: In a live poker game, players can observe physical cues, body language, and facial expressions of their opponents, which can provide valuable information and potential reads.
It's important to note that both online and in-person poker have their own risks, and safety considerations may vary depending on the specific circumstances, location, and individual preferences. Regardless of the format you choose, it's essential to prioritize personal safety by playing on reputable platforms, following responsible gaming practices, and being cautious with sharing personal information or financial details.

Before playing online, ensure that you choose a trusted and licensed online poker site that has a good reputation in the poker community. When playing in person, select reputable and well-regulated poker rooms or casinos that prioritize player safety and fair play.

I find that skill takes a bigger part in person than it does online. It is hard to read people by the click of a mouse

I feel safe more when Im at home, because Id just get scared in person, I would try to bluff everything or would try to stay in the hand naively.

We have played at home several times; the dude took the money, which he lost , I don't think I will do that anymore. If it will be live, it will be only at the casino.

For me the online poker is ok, no problems for now.
