If you are looking for a get rich quick scheme, then poker and especially online poker is not it. Sure some of the people, who got in early, and had the right mindset, did actually make a lot of money in online poker. But today skill edges have become small, and nobody is going to race up through the stakes and make a killing just by not being a complete donkey.

Ive always been competitve and loved brain games ,puzzles.I play because i love it and feel the opposite towards most other stuff in the world,i play to remove myself from a horrible place in my head where everything adds up to exactly what scripture says it would,to avoid thinking about a world gone so wrong.i play to raise the middle finger to those that crushed me and made this man a boy the moment he became a man.I know damned well what i must sound like to a lot of people,just some jumped up deluded crazy know all running off at the mouth while knowing nothing,but they dont realise when i achieve something its like a small child making adult achievements.My brain is mashed from 3,4,5 brain exploding heart pulpitating nightmares a night for at least 7 mnths before it eased off a bit for a few more mnths when my son was born,followed by mercury poisoning from a late model lightbulb shattering right above my head which when added to what i had already been through left me feeling inches from death for many years with some doctors laughing at me like a little kid telling tales when i was sick to the core.I play to be successful and raise the middle finger to those that put the mercury above our heads in glass capsules,mercury falls through the human body thats why they put it there,and who are they...they are the extremity of what they tried to turn me into a tool for,just a crazy ,chained down ship of satanic fools hooking people with their traps or their false peace and false dreams,and they will see how diamonds are made knowing that they themselves couldnt withstand the pressures they threw upon me,the twisted tales they are so good at driving into peoples heads.Dark twisted tales going back to Cain and Abel,the twist of Cain and the fact that Jesus is actually the seed that in time replaced Abel,and the twist of Cain...well thats a horrible thing in itself and if they could convince me of it they could convince opposite minded people of it,to do their will,and thats the scary part,i have no qualms about dieing its just how i get there worries me a little.Not to mention binding me and blinding me so they could manipulate my surroundings and take everything they could attach to it,people...dreams...money...energy,if u can think of it they have used me for it thinking i cant see,but i have a truth they will never ever have the pleasure of knowing and an intimate relationship with a god they can only be jealous of,because they know the one they started out worshipping is exactly what the good book says it is,the thief,the destroyer,the father of the lie...u think i enjoy this..no or think i want some sort of sympathy lol no thanks,a bit of understanding goes a long way and i want people to know what it is when it hits,because it is as the good book says about gods people...one of you will chase ten thousand of them,so i play because i dont really have the mental or physical capacity or the drive or motivation to live a normal life,and i so desperately want to beat a crooked game with a straight game,and i want to add to the ones chasing the ten thousands,and to be well off and win a good amount of money,thats just the icing on the cake and a reward for a job well done and the success that is the best form of revenge.so all in all it was a blessing in disguise and when people ask whats got into you writing all this....oh my im so sorry it mustve been the mercury ...hehe gl at the tables all :help::secruity:and may peace be with us lol!

I have played online and live for many years now. I am now retired. My past work involved huge budgets, data mining, statistics, and planning.

Now that I am retired, poker has become more important. It keeps my skills up. Math, statistics, data mining, planning and studying more. So, you see it is very important and fun. It keeps my skills alive, it gives me a little money on the side (Christmas was several hundred this year), it keeps my mind active and it is FUN!!!

When I discovered CardsChat, it helped open the world up even more for me. Most important thing I was missing with other sites was the friendship and communication. It brings it all into focus and makes my "old" world more enjoyable and my poker world more challenging.I am very thankful as those who run CC know.

I look at how money has destroyed celebrity and lottery winners' lives. Yes, I have won some, but never look to get rich. If I happen to be one of the lucky, skilled ones that one day, somehow, I find my way into the WSOP or another major event, I really do not know how I would handle the shock and miracle of it all.

Answering the question, to become wealthy at the most loved thing I do during my day, would be one of the biggest dreams of my life, but it is just a dreamy goal. I play to keep my skill set up, my mind active, a little Christmas money, and most important....the FRIENDSHIP.

I love pups too. We have three pups, two cats and a full house of folks to go along with it. LOL.
