I think it is more equivalent to saying, "You want your opponent to learn from his mistakes." Showing after bluffing is not only an act of stupidity but it also makes your opponent alert. This will result in him being more careful next time and might end up later as not so good thing for you. However, showing a top card or any one card is what I would prefer to do when I successfully bluff, but I never show both the cards....

I do not always show the bluff, but sometimes I simply have to show that I did not have anything, give me the wind in the back ... hehe:ciao:

It depends a lot on the situation, we should polarize our range a bit, always being careful with our image on the table

This is really a bad idea to show after the bluff, even to show your great hand is also a bad idea. No point to give your opponents any information about you, they will make notes.

I've only recently activated my show winning hands on pokerstars but still battle to hit the show cards button on time lol.

I think there is value in showing cards if you selectively bluff, you can catch your opponents calling when you have a hand, but not if you bluff frequently/constantly.

Show after bluffing?

Never show my cards unless it goes to a showdown where the cards are shown by the dealer through an all in. Don’t want other players around the table to pick up on how you play. It’s good to keep people thinking and not to be able to read you!

I pick and choose when to show..Late in a tournament I will show strong hands to make my table think that I only play strong cards. I find I am able to steal a few pots that way.I also may show to try to make someone steam that I bluffed them

I dont give any info at the virtual tables, for instance on Stars i make the check marks for not showing hands etc. in the gameplay options. Maybe in live games just for fun i do the oposite thing from time to time :)

Only when I'm trying to trap some one to take them all in and win the hand other then that no. And if it's a show down and the villain mucks you can still see the cards by clicking previous hand

Showing bluffs work in live games as it can tilt players. It makes it much easier to trap later on.

There are moments in poker when, after a successful bluff, you want to show your opponent what a cool guy you are. But I understand that this is bad

this definitely can be damaging to your play when playing with the same players later or even any that may have watched. don't think its at all worth it in the long run.

If I dislike the player, or we have a history of big pots I will always show. Nothing better than making someone tilt against you at the wrong time. Showing bluffs probably will make them "TRY" and bluff you.

I almost never show their cards after a bluff only in exceptional cases when I need to make a reputation at the table of loose.

I do not show the cards after the bluff, it can harm the game in the future.

I never show my hand to an opponent, it actually adds to the suspicion. If I'd be playing with friends, even then I wouldn't show it. The less your opponents know about you, the better.

The only reason you could do it, is to trick them into thinking you're a bluffer or a "correct" player, but even then, I wouldn't do it.

To be honest, even if I would want to do it, I have no idea how to do that in Pokerstars.

You can show sometimes, but you should treat it like an exception and have in mind that you are showing your cards for all players at the table and it won't be a good idea in most of the time.
