Does playing poker make a lot of money ?

The poker sites certainly make lots of money from Poker, Because if there was no money in it for them, they wouldn't be around. but for Players to become Rich it takes Hard Work, Lot's of Study, Dedication and the Patience of a Saint.
You only have to look in any MTT Lobby to see hundreds, sometimes Thousands of players register for a game and at the end of it there can only be one Winner! Now multiply that by the number of MTTs played on any given day, and the number of days in a year, and the number of loser's becomes Millions.
O.K. there are many runners up that can make the money bubble and cash but there are many that go out before the bubble and win nothing. Players like myself who have never made a deposit but still win occasionally, are far and few between, But there are Thousands that deposit on a regular basis thinking it is easy money to be had. It's Not!
And for every player that plays as a hobby, just for a bit of Fun! there are thousands making the best players Rich along with the Poker Sites!
I will never become Rich from playing Poker! But I don't need to, at 67 years old I have made my money, Prepared for my retirement and even though I could register for a World Series Championship with a 10,000 Dollar buy in, I wouldn't want to. It would be stupid of me to believe I could win such a prestigious event playing against the Worlds best players.
Sure it would be nice! but I would rather qualify by playing in a Satellite game buying in for $1 or $5 Dollars and winning a place in the Final.

Hi that depends if you have experience, practice a lot, know a lot of strategies, self control and manage correctly your bankroll, you will earn money, you need to put a lot effort to learn and apply.

I do not want to discourage you, but it may be possible and profitable for people who are patient, intelligent, quick to understand, and strict at the same time, in addition to continuous training, and yet they must lose from time to time due to the factor of luck.
I believe that playing poker professionally is not impossible. Strong determination and patience are the ones that decide that.

Forget about skill. All you need is massiv above average luck. That´s it.

For the vast majority, it is losing money imo. Anyhoe, important is to lose just the ammount you afford to lose...
